Perfect break away
Small small cottage perfect for a short break away from life. The cottage was ready for us well before we was due to check in as we arrive earlier than expected. Situated close to a very beautiful nature reserve of which we spent a lot of time. Would definitely recommend the cottage and the area
Old and rustic
Cute and Quaint Cottage
A lovely cute cottage in the countryside. Perfect for 2 adults. Loved the under floor heating in the lounge area. It was comfortable for the length of time we spent there.
Clyde was a great host, always on hand for recommendations. The location was great for exploring the New Forest (about 20 minutes drive away)
Charming peaceful country retreat in a cottage full of character
We loved our time in this cottage! The highlight was definitely the sun-trap private garden. We ate all our meals (and drank several sundowners) sitting out here, listening to the birds chirruping. The cottage itself is also lovely: beamed ceilings upstairs and down, a cosy sitting room for reading books and playing board games (with log burner for the winter months) and a well-equipped modern kitchen and modern shower. It was everything we were looking for for a relaxing rural break. The 'village' the cottage sits in is tiny - just a smattering of houses really - but some lovely walks and local attractions are nearby. We would recommend Old Wardour Castle, a romantic ruin. We did not meet our host, who gave us all the privacy and peace we wanted, but there was a thoughtful welcome on arrival (in the form of hot cross buns for Easter) and he responded quickly to a query we had. Thoroughly recommend! What a gem this property is.
Lovely little cottage!
Monks Cottage is small but great for 2 people or a couple. My daughter and I really enjoyed staying here. Clyde was wonderful! He was so nice and was willing to answer any questions.
