The house has been lovingly restored to provide comfortable modern living yet maintaining its Victorian charm.

Guest access

The large walled garden faces south with far reaching views to the open moor. A beautiful covered seating area provides a wonderful place to eat, drink, or just relax with a book. A master spa hot tub is the perfect way to star graze as Dartmoor enjoys very little light pollution. The threshing barn has has a games area with table tennis and darts.

Town Barton sits in the heart of the old village next to the green, cricket pitch, and church.

Getting around

Excellent, walking, cycling, and horse riding directly from the house. Bowerman's Nose is one mile. Haytor is three miles. Excellent local pubs include the Ring of Bells at North Bovey The Rugglestone at Widecombe The Cleave at Lustleigh Beaches are one hour Exeter and Plymouth airports are one hour away

Other things to note

Town Barton is a Victorian farmstead built by Lord Hamberdon's estate in 1833. Today the farm is run as a smallholding with sheep, pigs, chicken, ducks, and horses. Two small businesses work out of the barns & and the annex is a permanent let. James and Sally have been restoring the house over the last three years. 2018 will be the first time Town Barton will be available as a holiday home. The annex at Town Barton called Hare's Hollow received 5 star rating in 2017

Sally and James are passionate about living on Dartmoor. They love the outdoors and being able to live in a national park.

Sally is a nurse manager, and James is a commercial photographer.

The Owner purchased this house in 2014

Town Barton is a wonderful home in the heart of the village that enjoys unspoiled views across Dartmoor to Haytor. The garden is a gem, south facing, warm and sunny.

The village of Manaton sits in Dartmoor national park yet is only 15 minutes drive from the A38 dual carriageway giving excellent access to other parts of Devon.
