About Gareth and Luci Chapman
We are Gareth, Luci and Lola, the dog. We moved from Oxford where Gareth ran his own building company and Luci worked in events. We moved here looking for an easier pace of life, in a part Wales we loved, and knew well, having holidayed here for many years. After searching for a few years we fell in love with Fynnonddewi and it's lovely rural location the moment we saw it and just knew it was the place for us. We have only been here since November 2017, but are already undertaking a comprehensive programme of upgrades to make your stay even more special. We are always on hand to help whether it be issues with the cottage or information about the local area, and look forward to welcoming you to this lovely part of Pembrokeshire. If your dates are not available please do contact us by following the "ask owner a question" link, we may still be able to help. Also if you require a 5 or 6 night break please do also get in touch for our very best price

Why Gareth and Luci Chapman chose Solva
We fell in love with natural beauty of Pembrokeshire and the variety of things to do. There are peaceful walks, along the coast path or the Preseli Hills, or for the more active, coasteering, sea kayaking, or surfing. There are beaches galore, many of which allow dogs or have a dog friendly area. The choice is yours whether it's building sandcastles or exploring rockpools and many can be deserted even in the height of summer. There is wildlife all around whether it be seals, dolphins or those at the Folly Farm zoo. Pembrokeshire is a birdwatchers paradise with the islands of Skomer and Skokholm being some of the most important seabird breeding sites in Europe. We have our own share of wildlife on site too with foxes, badgers and rabbits. Autumn and winter sees large flocks of ducks on our pond, along with large flocks of lapwings in the neighbouring fields, buzzards and red kite are often seen overhead and tawny and little owls hunt at night.
What makes this Cottage unique
We are set in rural surroundings just a couple of minutes from Solva, surrounded by 12 acres of our own land and many more beyond that, which means you won't ever be disturbed by, or ever disturb our neighbours. We are directly about 1.5 miles from the coast which is easily accessible via a footpath direct from the property. The nearest road is several hundred yards away so there is no need to worry about children and traffic. Activities can also be arranged either at the property or elsewhere or we can provide a team of caterers, should the chef of the group fancy a night off.
Max guests:15 (sleeps up to 15 adults)
Cancelled bookings will not receive a refund.
Good communication throughout with property owners, answering questions very quickly, lovely and warm on arrival and throughout our stay, well equipped with lovely extra little touches. The property easily accommodated the 14 of us that stayed, plenty of room to sit together and eat together. We had a wonderful weekend thank you Gareth and Luci, we may well be back 😀
It was a pleasure to have you guys staying at Ffynnonddewi and we are so pleased you all enjoyed your long weekend celebrations. We’d be delighted to have you guys back again!

Special Family Weekend
We have thoroughly enjoyed our family celebration weekend at Ffynnonddewi farmhouse and adjoining Ty Dewi. Both accommodations were clean, comfortable, and extremely well equipped, there was nothing we were in need of. Luci and Gareth were warm and welcoming and had kindly left us some wonderful complimentary items to enjoy. We were most grateful to able to extend our last day (we really didn’t want to leave!) with a late check out. Thanks again to you both.
We were so pleased that you guys enjoyed your big birthday weekend with us at Ffynnonddewi. We hope we will see you guys again!
And thank you again for the beautiful flowers from Tussie Mussie which are still looking and smelling fabulous in our sitting room!

New year break
We rented both properties for new year (9 adults, 2 children and 3 energetic dogs) and from the start the communication with both Gareth and Luci was 5 star. Closer to our break they got in touch to make sure we had directions and welcome packs beforehand and when we there they were contactable throughout.
As for the cottage and barn, we loved them. We’ve already booked to go back next new year. The little touches always make a difference in places like this, and it seemed as if Gareth and Luci had thought of everything - the kitchens were fully equipped, TVs you could chrome cast to, comfortable beds and pillows, as well as a welcome basket on arrival and also a little something for the pooches. There were also beach towels and dog towels in case we needed them, and a load of board games for the evenings. Plenty of room for the dogs to run around too - so much so that when we brought them back from their walks we hardly saw them for the rest of the day.
Thanks for the amazing break both and we’ll see you next new year. 😀
Thanks for your lovely review!
We are so pleased you all enjoyed your New Year with us at Ffynnonddewi and we look forward to seeing you guys in December!
Very best wishes

Amazing Christmas with extended family
We rented both properties for a large family get together at Christmas. The photos do not do these properties justice. They were both fantastic. Clean, well equipped with a very homely feel. Luci and Gareth had decorated both properties for Christmas and had left us some lovely goodies and very thoughtful items (crackers and turkey tray!) The booking process was very easy and communication with the owners was brilliant - I had a few questions before arrival which were all answered timely and in depth. Thank you for a memorable Christmas. I would not hesitate to recommend.
We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your family Christmas at Ffynnonddewi and thank you so much for your fabulous review!

Fantastic accommodation - great spaces for our families needs (we had farmhouse and barn) - it could not have been better equipped or in a better location - absolutely wonderful

stay at ty dewi
We really liked this property. I especially liked that it had food waste recycling and other recycling. The owner was very friendly and helpful . It was a very quiet location though does have an attached campsite, in the greener camping holidays group.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay, please come back and see us again sometime.

There are many beautiful beaches in the area. the closest small cove, (sandy at low tide) is within walking distance.
Newgale (3miles) and Whitesands (7 miles) are large expansive beaches, great for surfing, equipment hire and lessons are available at Newgale.
Pretty Solva harbour has a sandy beach at low tide and is a great spot for crabbing when the tide is in.
The nearest local shops are at Solva, including the excellent Bay View Stores, next door to which is Something Fishy, where you can buy local crab, lobster and sometimes wet fish, during the summer months all caught by the owner.
Solva also has 4 pubs all of which serve food.
Further afield is St David's which has further pubs restaurants and cafes as well as a butchers/fishmongers, greengrocers, supermarket, delicatessen, banks and other tourist shops.
Haverfordwest has Tesco and Morrisons along with a retail park, with Debenhams, Next, TK max etc, but is very much a working town rather than a tourist destination.
The nearest big town centre is Carmarthen
Due to the rural location a car is pretty much necessary, however the Haverfordwest to Fishguard bus does run close by on the main road and calls at Solva and St David's. During the summer there are also several coastal services, most of which run through either St David's or Haverfordwest, making it ideal for walkers.
Haverfordwest 13 miles
St David's 5 miles
Carmarthen 45 miles
Aberteifi(Cardigan) 32 miles
