About this property

Contemporary beach front house at Porth, Newquay - ideal for couples + families

Offering self catering family accommodation, the house has one double bedroom with a beach view and one twin room. A travel cot and highchair are also available. There is off-road allocated parking for one car, and an outside terrace. Amenities include free WiFi, Sonos hifi, tablet PC with Spotify account for music streaming, Smart tv, washer/dryer, gas central heating, gas hob and electric fan oven, microwave, fridge and freezer. Bed linen and towels included. No pets and no smoking.

The house is located next to the beautiful Porth beach, which with its sheltered waters is ideal for families. Next door is the popular Mermaid Inn with outdoor seating for a beach-side meal or drink. The house is a short drive from Newquay town centre (walkable in around 30 - 40 minutes along the coast path) and is the perfect base for enjoying Newquay and the wider Cornwall area.

We loved the house as soon as we walked through the front door for the first time. It needed some work and we have spent many (many) hours finding the perfect furniture and furnishings, that we also thought other people would enjoy, and feel relaxed in. Nothing beats waking up in the morning, opening the blind and sitting up in bed looking at the beach!

We think you will love our house if you want:
* To be right next to a gorgeous family-friendly beach.
* A place to stay that feels calm and welcoming.
* Hosts that care about your stay and will communicate efficiently with you.

We think it may not be for you if:
* You want a place that looks beautiful from the outside - our house is a 70s terrace * building and the exterior is not much to look at. It's lovely inside though!
* You have a van or very large car / SUV and want to park outside the property.
* You don't want to be near a pub - there is one next door.

Porth beach is accessible by foot, just a short walk from the property.

The property is ideally located for accessing Newquay and the wider Cornwall area by car.

There is a bus stop within walking distance of the property serving regular buses into Newquay.

The property's parking space can be a bit tight to get in / out of. We park a large family estate without issue but it may not be suitable for very large cars or some of the bigger SUVs. The space is quite wide once in and we have no issues getting a baby carrier in / out etc. In the event that guests are unable to park in the space we will cover the cost of parking at Porth Beach Holiday Park across the road.

brilliant.

the house is perfect, it’s very clean and very tidy with plenty of room for a family of five, great beds great bathroom and a large tv. it’s in Porth and so close to the beach which is a lovely quiet beach (with a great pub right on the beach), it’s a five minute drive to Newquay or when the tide is out you can walk across four or five different beaches right into the centre of Newquay. Porth is pretty much central for an easy drive to most places in cornwall. we’ve spent our two weeks summer holiday there and it was all brilliant.

Amazing Stay

We had an amazing family holiday. Chris was so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The property is really well located and you can stroll onto the beach. Would definitely go back next time we're in Cornwall.

Lovely stay

Had a fabulous week staying here, beautiful place to stay, quite picky when it comes to cleanliness and furnishings but the apartment didn't disappoint. Great communication with the owners, would definitely recommend, we will be back!!!

Loved it!!

Lovely home right on Porth beach, great location between lusty glaze and watergate bay. We stayed here to be near lusty glaze for my brothers wedding and was not dissapointed the house was clean and tidy and beautifully decorated. Lovely view over Porth beach. We had everything we needed and I was able to bake a beautiful wedding cake for my brothers wedding. The children loved it, we didn’t want to go home!! We will definitely be back!!

Hi! We're Lorraine and Chris and we have a 5 year old called Layla and her 1 year old sister Evie. We live in Bristol but the Newquay area is really special to us, and Chris used to holiday in Porth every year as a child so it goes way back. When our first daughter was born we knew we wanted our kids to love the beach and sea air as much as we do, and were determined to find somewhere where we could holiday together as a family for many years. We decided to also advertise it for holiday lets because we can only use it once or twice a month, and we love it so much we thought other people might too.

Why they chose this property

We loved the house as soon as we walked through the front door for the first time. It needed some work and we have spent many (many) hours finding the perfect furniture and furnishings, that we also thought other people would enjoy, and feel relaxed in. Nothing beats waking up in the morning, opening the blind and sitting up in bed looking at the beach!

What makes this property unique

The location is undoubtedly pretty special, because it is just so close to the beach. It's also one of those houses that just has a nice feeling when you step through the door.
From a practical point of view, having a dedicated parking space is really handy.
