The villa is located in a small village called Kokkino Horio , in the historic municipality of Apokoronas , Chania just a short drive away from the central national road that links the whole island. A quiet village surrounded by countryside and sea , where the only sound comes from the elements of nature. The area is ideal for activities such as hiking , mountain trekking , cycling and exploration of the island and its distinctive beauties. There are two tavernas – one within walking distance - with local cuisine. The second one is within a couple of minute drive away and it is next to a glass factory which makes blown glass products .
The nearest beach is only a few minutes far by car or bicycle , or about 20 minutes if you prefer walking . The beach is sandy and has been awarded with a blue flag. Various restaurants , cafes bars and all the necessary facilities can be found on the seaward side of the town. Other towns with beaches are a 10 minute drive away.
The city of Chania , the capital of the prefecture, is approximately 25 km away while the airport is about 30 km and the port is only 15 km. All the famous sights of the island can easily be accessed due to the close proximity of the villa to the national road.
The house, situated in a 4000m2 plot, is family friendly and suitable to comfortably accommodate up to 8 persons. Its unique style is a congruous combination of the light and airy island character with modern and luxury touches. The most characteristic elements of the décor, though, are undoubtedly Renata’s (the owner) mosaics which so discretely and tastefully appear in most of the house bringing to life a form of art which dates back to ancient times. The house consists of 2 floors connected through an internal staircase. Downstairs there is a huge kitchen, a living room and a bathroom. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary appliances and utensils. The living room includes a comfortable sofa set, big modern tv, home cinema as well as a fireplace which adds to the charm of the room. The dining area can sit 6 or more people. All these rooms have views to the endless blue of the sea.
Upstairs, there are 3 spacious bedrooms with a private bathroom each- one master and 2 twin ones. The owner Renata, being particularly fond of Greek tradition, has named them Ariadni, Helen and Bachus. The master bedroom provides a queen size bed. Its bathroom contains both a shower and a bathtub. The other two bedrooms have 2 single beds each which can easily become one. Their bathrooms have got a shower. All bedrooms have access to the upstairs veranda which has unobstructed views to the sea. Two folding beds can be used to accommodate up to two extra persons in the bedrooms.
The highlight of this villa is definitely its exterior space not only because of its breathtaking views but also because of its vastness which you can never get bored of. The private pool is big enough and creates the feeling that it is the continuation of the sea which lies some metes below. There is also a bbq and a big number of options to sit and enjoy every minute spent inside the property while creating unforgettable memories with the people you love.
The house has been recently renovated (2017) paying close attention to the needs of everyone choosing to spend their holidays in this lovely house. Having happy and fully satisfied guests is our utmost priority.
