We enjoyed our week in Grand Haven at this property. The location was perfect and we were able to walk to most of our destinations! The house is walking distance to a few parks which was great for my son. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, utensils, and spices which was very helpful. We also enjoyed the beach towels, chairs, and umbrella.
Loved the location and the house. Our daughter had a wonderful time playing in the backyard and we made great use of the grill!
Excellent vacation stay
Have stayed here previously - Brian does a great job keeping the home up. And the location is really great to downtown Grand Haven. Always a great stay.
Great things in small packages
We really enjoyed staying in Brian's home. This home has been renovated with a clear eye for detail. The beds were comfortable, and the backyard was a favoite spot to sit and enjoy. Thank you.
My family of five had a wonderful vacation at Second Sandbar. It’s very close to the Chinook Pier: park, boat tour, musical fountain, ice cream, downtown, trolley, restaurants and more all blocks away. We even walked to the lighthouse/beach one evening. Cute interior, great backyard for grilling and dining al fresco, and very well stocked kitchen. Brian even purchased a beach umbrella for us after the usual one at the home went missing. Great stay!!!!!
Quaint, Cozy & Creative Cottage
You will love this little house! The beds are comfortable. The bathroom is large and accommodating. The kitchen is large and well stocked with spices, wraps, paper towels, besides the usual basics. We used the outdoor garden/patio every day for coffee in the morning and grilling a few evenings. Each room has a unique creative touch that Brian made himself. From the surf board island, the school of wooden fish on the wall, to the built-in dining table, Brian poured his talent into making this little cottage a fun retreat.
If you're questioning the location (a mile from the beach), don't! It's at the end of the boardwalk, next to the charming farmers market and Yacht Club. Hop on your bike and it's just a quick ride to the beach. It's only a 5 minute walk to all the down town action, shops, restaurants, boardwalk, amphitheater, ice cream, and more.
Brian is a great property owner. Friendly, helpful, gave a great advice on restaurants and things to do. Our favorite restaurant was the Paisley Pig - just a few blocks from the cottage. Try the bourbon which is hand smoked at the bar with an infuser and the brussel sprout salad - crazy good!!!
The only feature I will note, the location of the 2nd bedroom (with the queen bed) is a bit odd. You enter the bedroom either thru the bathroom or the bigger bedroom. If you are a family, it's not much of an issue. We were 2 couples and it did seem a challenge at first but we got used to it and worked out a system.
Brian, thanks for the great stay! We highly recommend this great house! If we're back in Grand Haven, we'll definitely book here again and take you out for some Basil Hayden or Smoked Bourbon.
