A south facing house with fantastic views across the Galloway country side. The large windows in the living area allow the sun to flood in summer and winter. The living area is open to the apex of the roof adding to the sense of space. A wood burning stove , and underfloor heating powered by an Air source heat pump mean that you will be cosy even on the coldest nights. There is a private patio with a large hot tub, ideal for relaxing and gazing at the stars. Challenge friends and family to a game of table tennis or pool in our adjacent games room. A large lawn will tire out the most energetic youngster. There is a paddock next to the garden where our friendly Shetland ponies Dragon Fly and Bumble Bee hang out, always on the lookout for a carrot ! Threave Gardens, Castle and estate walks are close by. The area has quiet roads to cycle on and hills to ramble on. We are well situated for visiting the main tourist places in Dumfries and Galloway. The market town of Castle Douglas is a 10 minute drive away and the artists town of Kircudbright (new Art Gallery opening early 2018) a 15 minute drive away. You'll be surprised how much the area has to offer.

Why Owner chose Castle Douglas
The house is on the site of what used to be my farm steading. We spotted the design while looking at houses on the Hebridean Homes website. It fitted what we were looking for perfectly, a modern house with well designed spaces and plenty of glass to take advantage of the views.

Great place to relax and take in the Scottish outdoors. If you like looking up at the stars it’s a great place to be.
Thanks. Yes the stars always look better lying in a warm bubbling hot tub !!

Thanks. It’s good to know The Longhouse is appreciated.
