This apartment is on the first floor of a recently restored building originally from 1883. The first owner was Celestino Ribas, thus the name. All the installations are new, with an effort made to retain the original style, complete with high celilings, windows or doors to every room. It is located in the historic centre of Premia de Dalt which is aproximately 3k from the beach in an area to the north of Barcelona known as "El Maresme" famous for its micro-climate, not so cold in winter nor so hot in summer. It is close to Barcelona by car, approximately 30minutes outside peak hour. Also there are public transport links by, bus and train which both take you to the centre of Barcelona.
Large kitchen, salon and bedroom with terrace.

Why Edmond Smyth chose Premià de Dalt
We aquired this property after many years looking for an old house in good condition which retained its original layout and features. Close to the sea but far enough away to miss the humidity, noise and movement of traffic and people. Close to the hills of the Maresme so you can go walking or mountain bike riding from the front door. The village of Premia de Dalt has retained many of its old buildings which have various levels of protection. The village has all the amenities you could need, restaurants, shops, supermarket, peace and quiet. The Maresme area is known for its micro-climate which reduces the summer temperature and doesn't get cold in winter. Thus the many market gardens growing vegetables and ornamental plants nearby. This area is also recognised for having many interesting, good quality restaurants, likewise it is a DOC wine growing area. Architecture is also prominent with Antoni Gaudi's first assignement being "the Nau Gaudi" in Mataro. The other famous Catalan architect Domenenc i Muntaner (famous for the Palau de la Musica in Barcelona) has several buildings in the area.
What makes this Apartment unique
The most important aspect is that you have all of the above available, yet you are on the doorstep of Barcelona. You can park here in the village for free and drive to wherever you want in Barcelona in about 30 minutes, outside of peak hour. This is the same time most people will spend on the metro or bus to get to work, and much much less than many people spend travelling by car in the major cities of the world.

Great Place to Stay
We have been to Barcelona several times on holiday and decided to do something different this time so we went to this wonderful village about 20kms to the north, by chance really, as we wanted to be near Barcelona with its vibe and also near the sea but not on a beach. This place has it all - peace, quiet and fresh air! However, by car outside the peak hour, it's only 30 minutes to the centre of Barcelona! This was a blessing as when we went to Barcelona we had a good time but in the evenings and early mornings we really appreciated the peace, quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
The apartment is in an old building which has been beautifully refurbished. It has all you need for your stay. The owners also live there so they are on hand if you need anything. They know all the local places to visit, particularly restaurants. The area is known as Maresme and has many fine restaurants. The ones we tried were excellent value for money. It is also a DOC wine growing region and we enjoyed the local wine.
As it is about 3km for the sea we had some nice walks along the seaside. From the front door there are many walks to the nearby hills with spectacular views over the sea. It's worth visiting the local villages - interesting streetscapes and some important modernist architecture. In fact the first building of the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi is "La Nau Gaudi" in Mataro about 15 min. drive away.
So all in all we could only recommend this apartment. We had a very enjoyable holiday.
Many thanks for coming and enjoying our village atmosphere and its pleasant surroundings. Looking forward to your next visit.
Brad new, good placement and very friendly host
We enjoyed a lot our week, because the appartment is very confortable (and brad new) , the placement of the house is very convenient since it's in a quiet and small village near Barcelona (20 minutes by train), you can enjoy both wonderful Barcelona and the catalonian countryside. The host was very helpful and friendly with all the doubts and questions we have. I definetly recommend the appartment.
Many thanks again for coming. Glad you had such a good time, looking forward to your next visit.
