Beautiful country cottage
We had a wonderful stay in the cottage over the weekend. There was an excellent welcome hamper waiting for us on our arrival, which had all we needed to start our break. The cottage had everything we needed inside and lovely outdoor space to enjoy the peaceful village that it is situated in. It is truly a beautiful home to stay in when visiting the Cotswolds.
Charming cottage in the peaceful countryside
Cozy, charming, spotlessly clean.
Our family of four loved our stay at Corner Thatch. The cottage had everything we needed; the welcome basket of cake, bread, eggs, wine cheese and more was abundant and delicious. Fresh flowers in the kitchen. Comfortable beds and nice linens. Abbots Morton is a charming, quiet village centrally located. Highly recommended!
Utterly charming and highly recommended
This delightful timber-framed, thatched cottage is absolutely lovely. Situated in a remote village, it is the perfect, peaceful retreat, while being within a short drive of some really interesting towns, pubs and an amazing farm shop and restaurant. The cottage was presented in a beautifully clean condition with an excellent and comprehensive welcome food hamper that would last 4 people for a couple of days. We even had a Christmas tree during our festive season stay. The were a couple of maintenance issues like defective blinds and broken light bulbs, but nothing to spoil our stay. Disappointingly, the property description was not entirely accurate or complete. The twin beds CANNOT be zipped together to form a king size bed. The fireplace is not a "gas effect wood burning stove" it is an electric coal effect fan heater. Although not mentioned in the facilities list, there is also a 4-slice toaster.
There is plenty of room for 2 couples or a family of 4 and the open plan kitchen and dining room is a good space for friends or family to dine together.
FANTASTIC!!!! The perfect way to enjoy the Cotswolds area and Stratford Upon Avon
The cottage is fabulous, truly lets you feel that you are part of the history of the area yet still has all the modern features you want. Abbots Morton is the perfect village to escape the daily grind yet is only minutes away from some truly fine dining, pub life, and Hillers Farm Shop is an absolute must visit for the restaurant, the farm fresh groceries and the flowers. The daily horseback riders passing by, the quiet of the fields surrounding you, the peaceful and private yard, the truly charming interior of the cottage, everything contributes to a true getaway vacation. Now I am someone who enjoys driving around so the location of the cottage was perfect for this also. We were able to visit nine of the ten "most beautiful" Cotswold villages, the locations where Downton Abbey was filmed, William Shakespeare's Stratford Upon Avon and dinner in Sale with relatives. I could not imagine anyone not falling in love with this cottage, the village or the area. Five Stars does not seem enough!
