Unsatisfactory stay - we did not love it.
The owner, Sue, was friendly and welcoming. The Wren's Nest, however, was very small, with extremely limited cooking facilities ( cooking was by means of a two ring , portable electric hob, stored in a cupboard) and living area and could generally do with some TLC. The stair down to the bedroom was very steep and difficult to manoeuvre. I appreciate it was cheap, but one still expects the basics. We actually cut short our visit.
Lovely cottage, Very quiet, very friendly owner
We stayed in the cottage facing the main road, very spacious with 3 bedrooms and a log burner, the house heated up nicely and has a nice size kitchen, everything you need for a relaxing break.
Farm animals are there to visit and loads of places to walk, the owner is very friendly and offers a lot of information and local knowledge and has lovely dogs.
Definitely recommend staying here and will look to book again in the summer.
Welcoming, warm and cosy mini-cottage.
Spent a very relaxing 5-nights' stay in a quiet spot surrounded by beautiful countryside yet within easy reach of supermarket and Post Office. Very helpful owner and easy parking. Ingeniously designed little cottage with outside seating area; ideal for an active couple interested in walking and history. Many lovely walks close by and plenty of interesting places to visit within an hour's drive. Excellent value for money although cooking area a little cramped and limited storage space for clothes but great shower and, unexpectedly, TV and WiFi.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend as the perfect get-away for those with simple needs. (There are more spacious cottages on the same site for those who want more 'frills'!)
