Located in the small town of Almagra, conveniently halfway between Lisbon and the diversified tourist región of the Portuguese West the Quinta de Almagra is surrounded by mountains, valleys and vineyards of multipleshades of green. A former wine estate, rescued from ruins a few years ago and turned into an ideal place for relaxing family holidays.
Its rehabilitation, awarded in 2001 with the Architecture Regions Award, comprises of the main house, its central courtyard, old cellars, presses, barn, and finally the Casa do Caseiro - the outbuildings and overseer's house, now converted into our 7 people Guest House.
The Casa do Caseiro is about 105m2, divided into 5 small rooms filled with decorative details and all the necessary comfort for a great family holiday.
The property also has a lush, rustic garden and is very carefully maintained. You can play tennis, walk, enjoy the happy flight of the season swallows or enjoy the stunning sunsets and taking the last swim of the day in the pool.
Guests at the Casa do Caseiro also have a patio for their use only, ideal during the summer, whether sunbathing during the day or having long dinners or barbecues at night.
The rugged landscape around the Quinta de Almagra is strongly marked by vineyards, crops, smallvillages with white churches and the typical windmills scoring the tops of each mount.
In addition to its proximity to Lisbon, the region touches the coastal areas, such as Ericeira and Santa Cruz, and the south-central region of Portugal.
These two aspects make the location of the Quinta de Almagra the ideal place for a relaxing holiday combining countryside and beaches with vibrant cultural offer of cities and monuments.
