Small but perfectly formed. We only stayed two nights to celebrate the husband’s birthday but the cottage had everything we needed and the location was excellent.
Great little cottage
Lovely little cottage with walks from the door.
Beautifully presented & the log burner was great.
Nothing was too much trouble for Brian.
We will be back. Thank you.
Lovely comfortable cosy cottage
The cottage is in the middle of beautiful walking countryside with a good bus service to Matlock/Bakewell and Derby. Parking is on the main road 30 seconds walk from the cottage. I stayed with my best friend who lives many miles from me and the cottage was ideal for us to meet up for a couple of nights to catch up. The kitchen has adequate facilities for us - we ate simply and also went to the local pub (2 pubs 5 minutes walk from cottage). The cottage was warm with a wood burner that was very effective. The double bed was very comfortable. We had a couple of issues when I arrived but Brian (the owner) responded immediately and sorted them quickly.
I only have 3 criticisms. There was a lot of dust and cobwebs. A welcome folder with info re local stuff and how things work in the cottage. More importantly, there was only one wine glass between 2 thirsty women. I would definitely return with my husband for a couple of days walking. (Fortunately, he doesn't drink wine)
A fantastic little cottage tucked away in a lovely village.
Had a great stay here. Excellent access to the wider Peak District but if you didn't want to stray too far, then there is some great walking straight out the backdoor. Especially nice to walk across the moor too the pub then take a 5 minute stroll back along the road. Log fire in the evening made the place nice and cosy. The cottage has everything you need and any message sent to the owner was always met with a helpful and prompt reply. Five stars and we shall no doubt be returning.
Peaceful home from home
I had a truly lovely week staying in Honeysuckle Cottage. It has everything you need and felt homely, comfortable and peaceful. Even without a car it is in a perfect location to get around and lots of beautiful walks right on the doorstep.
A delightful cosy cottage with everything we needed to be comfortable. Though we didn't need heating it would be so nice to sit in front of the wood burner with a coffee and chocolate.
The bedroom outlook and quietness made for some of the best restful sleeps ever.
The lovely village atmosphere and pub within walking distance was a bonus. We will recommend Honeysuckle Cottage to friends and return there next time we're in the Peak District.
