The Local Area
The cliff top and beaches of Milford-on-Sea and neighbouring Keyhaven are within a few minutes drive, and both enjoy stunning sea views towards Christchurch Harbour and across to the Isle of Wight. There are a good selection of supermarkets, traditional village shops, cafes and restaurants close by and Milford on Sea boasts award-winning high-end restaurants, chic bistro's, a artisan micro ale bar and cosy, traditional pubs.
The lovely Georgian market town of Lymington is only 10 minutes drive away with its great range of independent shops, Waitrose and M&S Foodhall. A short walk from Lymington high street is the quaint cobbled street leading down to the old Town Quay, lined with a wide range of fascinating boutiques and local stores. Each Saturday there is a large market on the main high-street, a very popular destination for locals and visitors alike.
The New Forest is also on your doorstep, with the vibrant village of Brockenhurst and the chocolate box village of Burley both within 5 miles. Slightly further afield, Beaulieu is one of the most beautiful villages in the New Forest, offering riverside walks to Bucklers Hard, lovely gardens and the famous National Motor Museum.
There are lots of maps and brochures at the cottage to help you plan your days out, but visit the National Park Authority website for information on walking routes in the area and the official New Forest visitor website has maps of walking and cycling routes for downloading.
