Location, location, location.
We had no car in the Cotswolds as we were afraid to try and drive on a different side of car and road coming from the US. This was a great spot. Plenty of room for us and our daughter. Short walk into town for meals and hanging out after all the crowds leave at 4pm. WiFi worked great. Watched a movie on the TV. We had a small issue initially, maybe user error, getting the entry lockbox opened and it was chilly and windy and about to storm. A little stressful as our cell phones didn’t work and the cab left. My husband finally used a small stone for extra leverage to pull the box mouth down after entering our code to access the key, all’s well that ends well...beat the rain. Would stay again. Washer/dryer was great to catch up on laundry. We also did a Cotswolds whole day tour with a local guy who’d I’d highly recommend. Nick at The Original Cotswold Company I think it’s called.
We had a nice time visiting in Bourton. Took a day and visited Stow in the Wold - also nice little village. All in all great time!!
Great location, modern but coombed ceilings restrict access
Good modern well equipped downstairs, with a nice welcome pack. upstairs only has one small wardrobe for two rooms, just 4 coat hangers in the second bedroom. Not enough mirrors especially for shaving, make up or hair drying. You will bang your head!!
Easy walk to village centre shops, Coop supermarket, Birdland Greystones and Motor Museum.
Adequate parking for two cars. Much smaller outside areas than West cottage, but chairs and tables for both front and back.
No frying pan found.
A cozy retreat
A very compact, clean and modern unit. It is only a few minutes easy walk to one of the most picturesque villages in the Cotswolds. Shopping for essentials is also very close. Sloped roofs in the bedrooms made the arrangements a bit uncomfortable. Overall an excellent location for a short stay in this beautiful area.
Perfect base to discover the Cotswolds.
We had 3 fabulous nights in this charming cottage in the beautiful village of Bourton-on-the-Water. The cottage contained everything we needed for our stay and is a very short walk to the shops, cafes and restaurants. The Easter welcome pack was an especially nice touch. Thanks John and Caroline, we will definitely be recommending Lavender Barn East to any family or friends who plan to visit the area and hope that one day we will get a chance to return.
