Borgo Pignolo is located between Bergamo Alta and Bergamo Bassa.
Going up the village from the bottom you will gradually come to Porta Sant'Agostino, along an incredibly suggestive itinerary: to the sequence of Renaissance and neoclassical palaces, there are also artisan workshops, including that of an internationally renowned violin maker and numerous restorers. Among the historical residences also one of the most prestigious city locations, the marvelous Palazzo Agliardi.
The uniqueness of Borgo Pignolo is to allow ancient art to meet contemporary art, making this little magic in the harmonious succession of art galleries and antique shops.
The path is enriched finally thanks to the many small locales that dot the main street, via Pignolo precisely. Suddenly the marvelous sequence of noble palaces gives way to an equally spectacular sight: the gate of Sant'Agostino, which opens a gap in the Venetian walls, the Parco della Fara and the incredible panorama of the surrounding landscape.
Visiting this ancient village you can not fail to notice the alternation of splendid 16th century noble residences, which enclose in their interior beautiful courtyards, while with your gaze you lose yourself in front of the majesty of the Venetian walls that mark the border.
