Why Alison Williams chose Brampton
Beautiful traditional sandstone terraced property dating from the 17th Century. Refurbished with a classic modern style. Located on the doorstep of Brampton Market Town. Ideal location to enjoy the local activities and attractions or travel wider to the Lake District, Durham, Newcastle and Northumberland. Hadrian's Wall one of the most iconic tourist attractions in England is just two miles away including Birdoswald Roman Fort. We are ideally located for cyclists and walkers to get out and explore more of the surrounding areas with. Talkin Tarn Country Park, jut a mile from the cottage has level walking trails ranging from 1.5km to 3.5km, along with a children's play area. Gelt Wood is another popular spot with ramblers and wildlife enthusiasts. Overlooking Brampton is a Norman motte complete with a statue of the 7th Earl of Carlisle and the panoramic views from the top of the mound are a sight to behold. Brampton is a market town just nine miles east of Carlisle and is accessible by either road or rail. In the centre is Moot Hall tourist informational centre to help plan your stay.

Fabulous wee house
The house is fantastic ,marks for style and presentation have got to exceed 10 out of 10.
The house is one of the very best we have stayed in,it is so well presented and comfortable with all the very best equipment you could wish for.
The house is in a great location just off the main shopping street. Car parking is just round the corner and is free.
Lovely cottage. Thanks
Cosy cottage in Bramptom
My boyfriend and I stayed at this lovely cottage from 29 June until 10 July.
The cottage is about a minute's walk from the centre of Brampton. It was exceptionally clean and tastefully decorated with all the necessary kitchen equipment, bedding and towels etc. available as well as hand soap, washing up liquid and toilet rolls.
The housekeeper also came and changed bedding and towels halfway through our stay which was a nice touch.
It was tricky to get the hang of the temperature for the shower, but we worked out that it seemed to work ok if you turn the hot tap all the way on and then turn the cold tap on a tiny bit.
The road next to the cottage is quite noisy on weekday mornings. You can barely hear the traffic with the window in the bedroom closed, but I did get woken up early when we had the window open. I am a light sleeper though and it wasn't a problem for my boyfriend!
There are a few pubs in Brampton and small shops. We in particular would recommend the Howard Arms in Brampton as the food was delicious and very affordable. There are also lovely walks from Brampton, including through Ridgewood and along the old Dandy Railway Line.
Carlisle is a short drive away and is a lovely city with all the main shops and supermarkets as well as Carlisle Castle. The Hadrian's Wall Walk in Carlisle is also a lovely walk along the river and through Carlisle Park.
Birdoswald Roman Fort and Lanercost Priory are also not too far from the cottage as is Hadrian's Wall which are worth a visit.
The cottage is a lovely little base for visiting Cumbria and we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.
Well located in a small market town.
Close to all attractions.
The accommodation is cosy and comfortable.
We had a lovely time exploring old Roman ruins castles and churches.
Perfect little mews cottage
Very clean, modern and well equipped mews cottage. We were very comfortable here for our two night stay whilst visiting the local historical sites. Brampton was very pleasant with various tea shops and pubs. Recommend this accommodation for a party of two.
