About Kara Gillespie
We are a family of 4 from Calgary. We both grew up spending time outdoors camping, fishing, snow skiing, and waterskiing. We wanted our children to have the same experiences. We love vacationing with extended family and have found renting homes all over North America the best way to travel. We always wanted a place of our own where we can fit all our friends and family under one roof. We finally found it in Invermere.
Kara Gillespie purchased this House in 2015
Why Kara Gillespie chose Invermere
After vacationing in Invermere we fell in love with the town, the gorgeous peaceful surroundings, and the people. We knew right away that we wanted to spend more time here and to share this fabulous place with friends and family to make long lasting memories. When we found our house we were struck immediately by the stunning mountain views and the sense of openness while still being so close to town and on a quiet private hillside. We were greeted by deer in the yard when we first saw the house and are always fascinated by the herd who come by almost every night to graze on the land all around us.
What makes this House unique
The house has more than ample space for all our friends and family to stay together and still provides room for everyone to have personal space for some quiet alone time. It is in town but on a peaceful lot with very few houses around it, making it the perfect retreat. The back of the house has large windows and a deck to soak in the stunning mountain views that we never grow tired of.

Everyone loved it especially the deer eating the roses right out the window
Great house, but the high cleaning effort
House was great for our two families to connect. Lots of separate rooms and places for the cousins to spread out and have fun. Great location, nicely furnished, etc. Nice place.
Our only concern is the large cleaning list we had to do before checking out AND still pay a $250 cleaning fee. We are use to starting a load of laundry, staring the dishwasher, etc, but having to do ALL the laundry and put everything away, refill the bbq propane tanks, take the garbage across town all seems a little much for still having to pay $250 for cleaning. Not much left for cleaners to do after we completed the cleaning checklist. I gave 3 stars for the accuracy of listing for this detail. I knew it was $250 cleaning fee, but didn't realize how long our checklist was as its not listed.
Great place if your ok cleaning fee AND a fair bit of work on the morning you check out. The owners seems nice and reasonable to work with.
We had a great one at the house and would definitely rent it again!
W stayed with a group of 8 golfers. It was a perfect location and the house was more than big enough for us all.
Very well stocked with everything you would ever need. Highest recommendation.
Great place to stay in a great town.
Banff was nice, but had the bustle (and expense!) I expected. Lake Louise was overrun with bus loads. Invermere was perfect, and this house suited the needs of my family and my friend's family perfectly. With four adults and four teenagers, everyone was still able to enjoy some of their own space. From here we were able to easily access day hikes that we had almost all to ourselves and could truly enjoy the incredible back-country in the surrounding area. The market on Saturday is a must if you want some of the best ingredients to set up your pantry for the week. If you want to get away from the crowds and have a great time with some of your friends or family, this house is a great choice.
Fantastic property for a large family getaway!
This was a perfect property for our family getaway - 7 kids and 8 adults! It is a quiet location and there is lots of room for everyone! It is also the most well equipped of all vacation rentals I have rented. It was extremely hot when we were there and so the only thing that would have made it better, would have been air conditioning. However, there are fans and ceiling fans, and it did cool off at night.
I would stay here again!
