Great vacation spot
If your looking for a great affordable little beach getaway for you and your family this is definitely the place. We had a wonderful time being in this house for the week. Your so close to the beach without paying the crazy price of staying on the beach it was great.
rustic, peaceful, relaxing
My extended family enjoyed the Falmouth Road Race weekend at this roomy, peaceful home! Also enjoyed running on the beach, use of the kayaks, grill and spacious well-equipped kitchen. Thank you so much!
The house was spacious and comfortable. We had everything we needed and more. It is close to the beach and the pond behind the house is beautiful. The large living room and dining room were a real treat. Although there was no deck or porch, the outdoor furniture worked fine. It was a hot week, but when there was a breeze, the large windows in all rooms made it very pleasant indoors.
Cape Cod Bliss
We spent a wonderful week at the house at the Stephenson's home which is perfectly situated, just steps away from a salt water pond and a five minute walk to the beach. We took full advantage of the 2 person kayak and the paddle-board they had on hand. The house brought back childhood memories of summers on the Cape. The home is rustic and wood - not fancy- but large- with five bedrooms. There is a history told in the books on the shelves, and the china, and glasses from Harvard '57 and mementos throughout the home, which has obviously been loved and cared for over generations. It was exactly what we wanted and lived up to our expectations and we would gladly return.
Cape Cod Vacation 2016
We vacationed in this home with 10 people and the house is in a perfect location. One block to beach and the community is great. The owners are very nice.
The house is a very rustic and a unique older home. My complaints are that there were no pictures of the bathrooms and kitchen when we chose this house, they are very old and not very functional for having 10 people stay comfortably. The outside shower was also not in the best condition. I know that they hired cleaning people before we got there, but they did not do a great job (a lot of dog hair).
The house is on the water and you can kayak right from the backyard which is awesome, but there is no patio with a seating area to take advantage of the beautiful views. There was no gas grill, only charcoal.
What a wonderful holiday our family has just had at the Stevenson's picture book Cape Cod cottage/house in East Falmouth, Ma. It was perfect for for all of us,which was three generations including teenagers and a 5 year old and 6 year old. Mrs. Stevenson, whose parents had built the house in the 1940's graciously welcomed us and gave us a tour of her lovely home. It is nestled at the end of a short leafy lane where the bay curves around the bottom of the lawn, creating a venue for the paddle boards and kayak stacked in the garage and a lovely spot for drinks and/or dinner ( grill included) at sunset. The ocean, with several nice little public, beaches, is less than a few hundred yards on the other side. We entered the house thru a homey pantry into an efficient, well equipped old fashioned kitchen with a window over the sink where one can watch the water activities and call a ten minute meal warning. The dining room (with a table that pulls out for ten), living room and sun room, with large inviting comfortable furniture that is hard to pass bye and lovely to come home too. The upstairs too, is thoughtfully planned, A large sunny room with king sized bed is at the front of the house and a long hall, having on one side, four bedrooms alternating with double/ queen size beds, two with two twin beds and two bathrooms. On the other side of the hall are windows screened in, strategically planned for cross ventilation that ruffles the filmy white curtains gracing the traditional furnished rooms. All in all this house and its location, easily accessible to everywhere we wanted to go, was a haven for a perfectly delightful vacation for everyone. I don't think we could have left it without promising each other we would come back very soon. Whoops! I nearly forgot one of the most Delicious thing of all; hidden behind lattice fence all covered with roses is a hot and cold out door shower ( with a line for your towels and clothes!) Thanks again!!!!
