About the property

A large, imposing and newly refurbished holiday home, easily accessible from the main road from Broughton in Furness and Millom at Thwaites, and yet on arrival you will feel like the rest of the world has gone away. The location offers literally the best of both worlds - a complete rural idyll and yet situated very close to local amenities. A perfect base from which to explore the southern Lake District

and more than a little bit special.

Whether you have a special event to celebrate, or are taking a well earned break or a week's holiday, we think you will find everything you need here in terms of promoting well being that the property and its surroundings eschew. There really is a very particular welcoming atmosphere which promotes relaxation, providing sanctuary and allowing time to unwind and recharge in a very peaceful environment.

The property has mature gardens to three sides and plentiful private parking for up to four cars. Some gardens have planted boundaries, and there is a mature rose garden, whilst the rear garden from alongside the driveway extends behind the garage and is bordered with trees. A rear porch leads out to a walled patio area which is gated to the driveway. There is also a rear woodland area.

Rural views over the fields can be seen from both the front and side windows, and sheep can be spotted grazing nearby.

The property has two lounges. The main lounge has three sofas for all the guests to relax together. A log effect fire is available to complement the central heating, and to make the room cosy on autumn and winter nights. TV with freesat channels is available, as is internet and wi-fi

There is a downstairs bathroom with shower, and the smaller lounge can be made into a downstairs bedroom, so if there is a guest who needs both a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor, then this can be accommodated.

This are lovely views of the garden from the dining room, which is a very beautiful, light and airy room, and there is a large round wooden table in this terraced garden to enjoy outdoor eating and barbeques during the summer months.

The kitchen is completely new, and we think you'll agree has a real wow factor to it. All the modern conveniences are supplied - an integrated dishwasher, a large fridge/freezer, toaster and kettle, microwave and washing machine. A washing line has been provided (it is up by the garage) and the pegs can be found under the kitchen sink. There is a new Rangemaster Oven available for guests which we have chosen particularly, and we hope you feel like us that it is a very versatile cooker. There are many lovely pubs and restaurants to sample round and abouts, but if you're tempted to cook, or you love to cook, we think this is the cooker to indulge yourself with.

There are four bedrooms, and all rooms have been designed to let in maximum light and allow guests to take in the views unhindered.

The two main bedrooms are really quite large and also have new vanity sink units fitted in addition to the family bathroom upstairs.

The property sits in its own private grounds, which are quite extensive and well kept. The property has its own gardener, so don't be too surprised if he's working there sometimes. He makes a great job of the gardens, and they are attractive to guests all year round.

You may like the quietness of the woods in front of the property, and we even have a vegetable patch where rhubarb is growing presently. There are beautiful flowering bushes and heathers along the walls, and you usually find something is in bloom around the year.

All in all, this property is an excellent base from which to enjoy all that the South Lakes has to offer. In fact we think this property will make the holiday very special and make for happy and relaxed guests. Once sampled, we think you'll want to return.
