About Marilyn Sinkewich
Our family has been vacationing on Hilton Head Island for 26 years and have many fond memories. We hope you will be able to enjoy the beauty of the Island and the comforts of our second home.
Marilyn Sinkewich purchased this House in 2015
Why Marilyn Sinkewich chose Hilton Head Island
We are a short walk or bike ride to the ocean beach, one of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the east coast. The lagoon system offers so may spectacular birds. Most common to see are a mated pair of Peregrine Falcons, Grey Heron, Cormorants, Pelicans - see what you can add to the list. You can fish off our dock or tie up your boat or kayak.
What makes this House unique
Ocean oriented, private pool and spa, 3 golf courses, and tennis within the gated community.

Love Hilton Head Island
We had a wonderful time! The house layout was perfect for our family . We felt like the exterior was a little dated.
Also, Marilyn I had paid for 3 parking passes thinking we would be having more cars. We only had one and was only issued one pass.
The rental co said the refund would have to come from you.
Amazing Family Vacation
Had a great time and felt right at home in this place. The location is perfect, didnt realize what a gem Hilton Head Island was!
House was a nice walking distance from the ocean. We enjoyed early morning walks to the beach daily and found lots of shells and shark teeth. Kids loved it! We ended up renting bikes halfway through our stay as we seen people biking on the beach. One recomendation would be to rent outside of Palmetto Dunes, rental place there was twice the amount of the place we rented from ( I believe we used coconuts). They delivered for free the same day and picked the bikes up, great and friendly service.
The house its self was a nice setup. A large common area in the middle and two rooms off each side of the house. It was ideal for our larger family. We put our two older kids on one side of the house and we and our youngest child was on the other. We didn't end up taking the "master suite" cause we didnt want our kids to have a room with patio doors. We still had a king size bed, just not the nicer bathroom. This house would also work well for two small families or a family travelling with grandparents. Favourite part of the house was the back yard! Amazing pool and spa, we had requested the pool be heated as it was March. I thought it would still be cool in temperature but it was very warm. The lagoon is amazing and adds a lot of character to the place.
Our only issue, that wasnt really an issue was that our early checking code didn't work. Island Getaway was closed so it did take a bit for them to call us back. In the meantime we got ahold of the owner, Marilyn and she fixed us up right away! Our pool also stopped circulating but when we called they sent a pool person over within an hour and it was just a glitch in the programming.
Overall, had a great time with lots to do and see.
Best House/ Best Vacation Yet !!
I will start with saying that we are frequent travelers and have stayed in a lot of places. This one exceeded our expectations. The house is HUGE and well laid out! The amenities are many! The two living areas, dining, and kitchen were all open to each other, and all flowed into each other (which is awesome when you have all the little children!) There were LOTS of games and puzzles, which my children loved (and kept them occupied!) There were beach accessories for our use (two huge beach carts, lots of chairs, lots of sand toys) There was a private, well maintained pool (also a huge bonus and plus with our kiddos! And lots of pool toys / floats available for our use!) The house is in a gated community which does an excellent job of keeping the exterior of all the homes/streets clean and beautiful. Quiet neighborhood. Lots of mossy oak trees to see on our daily walks to the beach. The house sits on a lagoon, and my husband and children enjoyed fishing in it daily. There's a local seafood market nearby that you have to try called Barnacle Bills. We bough fresh, local seafood and prepared our meals every day. The kitchen couldn't have been more stocked for preparing meals! There were a few of everything we needed in the kitchen (and we cooked for 6 people, 3x a day!) We had a few questions/needs when we were getting settled, and the owners and property management company were QUICK and thorough to respond to our needs! There are dual shower heads in the master bathroom, along with a jetted tub! That was a luxury experience! Beds were very comfy. In summary, the house is light, airy, clean, beautiful, well- stocked, with a private pool and so many extra amenities. We truly couldn't have asked for more. The owners were so above and beyond accommodating and kind.Go stay here! You won't regret it :>) (Walk to beach is about 10 minutes with adults, with kids...a bit longer! But we still did it daily, a few times a day some days!)
Wonderful 2 weeks!
We stayed in this home the middle of July and despite the on and off-again rain, it couldn't have been a better time! The kitchen was well equipped with everything we could have needed. The house was clean and very comfortable with the large brood that was there. Although not seen in the pictures on-line, there were a ton of pool and ocean accessories to use and enjoy. And the lagoon! We have never stayed in Palmetto Dunes before and didn't think the lagoon was going to be such a hit - boy was I wrong!! From interesting birds, a resident crab, some fishing that took place, kayaking and an alligator siting to top it off!! All 3 generations totally enjoyed!
Marilyn was wonderful to work with. She answered all questions promptly and thoroughly. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend this home!
Nice house but needs some attention
The house is as advertised. 10 minute walk to the beach, 4 nice bedrooms, the A/C was sufficient for the house, pool, accomodates 10 easily, Hilton Head is great, lots of bike paths etc. The house is a little older and needs attention. The igniter on the outside grill does not work so we bought a long nose lighter and manually lit the grill, the master bedroom door does not close easily and the master bedroom slider is difficult to close. They were swollen from the humidity I imagine even though the A/C was on. The shower in the master bath had 2 water control valves but one was inoperable as it was loose and would pull out of the wall when you tried to use it and finally the sliders going out to the porch and pool area could not be opened by my grandchildren. I lubricated the door from the kitchen area and it worked fine but the others need attention. Let me stress that this is a nice rental in a great area....it just needs some attention to details.
Your house was perfect for our family! Thank you so much!!
Our experience was amazing! My husband and I along with our 2 Daughters and son In-laws and our grandkids had a wonderful week! That went way to fast! Everyone loved your home! The kids never wanted to go anywhere! All they wanted to do was swim! They loved the pool. Thank you!!
We are located in Palmetto Dunes Plantation on the ocean side of the island. For purchase, there are three golf courses, (Robert Trent Jones, Arthur Hills, George Fazio), tennis, bicycling, and kayaking. You can tie your kayak onto our dock. Boats in the lagoon are restricted to electric only. Fishing is catch and release in the lagoon. Enjoy the wonderful birds on the lagoon and a Grey Heron that frequents our dock.
