Why BRENDA ABBOTT chose Lake Placid
This home was built in 1985, and expanded in 2003. We built it in this location for the privacy and views, and it has been the location for numerous family gatherings from Thanksgiving dinners to outdoor wedding rehearsal parties.

Lake Placid Home
Great location and spacious. Home has everything you need. We had a great time and would plan to stay again in the future. Thanks again!
Loved staying here. We had some grasshopper visitors the last night, but they were friendly! We will stay again!!!
Had a wonderful time. Location was a short walk to Lake Placid Village. Beautiful, spacious deck for hanging out with friends and family. Owners were great and accommodating. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you Brenda!
So glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. The weather was fabulous! Come back and visit any time, I would love to have you.
Our family of 5 and dog stayed over the Christmas holidays and we had a fantastic stay. The house was decorated for the holidays which was a very nice touch. Having a lighted Christmas tree next to the fireplace in the great room felt like home. When there was snow on Christmas Eve Brenda made sure the driveway was plowed. The location is as quiet as can be but just a two minute drive to Main Street. Everything we could want was provided. The entire house was clean, cozy, and comfortable. There was really nothing to concern ourselves with except having a great time. The only regret was imagining using the hot tub on the deck with the beautiful view in the warmer weather, but that must wait until another visit.
Thank you for the nice review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. It is a pleasure to host wonderful guests that take such good care of our home, and we welcome you and your family to join us for another visit to Lake Placid.
Wonderful Location and Very spacious Property
I came to LP for the IRONMAN and was lucky enough to find this house. It is ridiculously convenient for spectators on the run and bike and an easy walk to IRONMAN Village. Brenda is the owner and she is incredibly responsive and friendly and just a joy to work with. The property itself has everything you can ask for and it really large. We loved the deck and the fire pit and hot tub for the evenings too. If I were to come back, especially for this race, I would definitely stay here again.
A roomy house for a large family with great views. A private location, yet close to town.
My family of 7 stayed here during the week of July 4th. We couldn’t have asked for a better location since the house was just a 5 minute ride into town but set back from the main road, with plenty of privacy in a wooded setting with a lovely view from the deck.
The house was very spacious with a large dining room, family room, and master bedroom with a huge ensuite bathroom.
The kitchen was well-stocked with everything you would need and more. No need to bring your own salt, pepper and seasonings. There were plenty of pots, pans, slow cooker and all utensils. Laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, other cleaning supplies and toilet paper were also provided.
If renting in the summer, be aware that there is no a/c, although some rooms have ceiling fans and there are portable fans. I understand that many homes in the area do not have a/c because it is usually not needed, unfortunately, the week we were there was an unusual heatwave with temps in the 90’s and it did become quite uncomfortable. Can’t control Mother Nature.
Brenda was always responsive to any questions we had and was kind enough to allow us to arrive a few hours early. Thanks, Brenda!
