Guest comments: Having just returned from Spain I thought I would drop you an email to tell what a fabulous time we had. The apartment was beyond our wildest expectations, and far better than anything we have stayed in previously. The view from the balcony is stunning. We made it up to Sierra Nevada on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day - the children played snowballs on Christmas Eve, then on Christmas morning while the turkey was cooking we went up again so that they could do some tobogganing (fresh snow had fallen overnight), then on Boxing Day we all went up yet again.
I thank you for making this one of our best Christmas', the attention to detail made all the difference.

'We had a great time in Guejar Sierra - everything was spot on. Apartment is lovely, everything we could need and with those fantastic views from the terrace. You can happily use me as testimonial's case for the apartment as I can't recommend it highly enough.'
My husband and I fell in love with Granada. The stunning views, fantastic food and history were hard to resist. We also love winter sports as well as relaxing by the beach and could think of no other place in the world where you can do both of these activities in the same day! We knew that in Guejar Sierra we really had found the perfect holiday location. A beautiful quiet village that was close to a historic vibrant city and within easy driving distance of a ski resort and beach. No matter what time of year we visited we would always have a fantastic holiday. Since purchasing the property our two fantastic children have been born and we can honestly say that the location is perfect as well for a family holiday. The village makes children very welcome and there are a couple of parks for them to play in too. Granada offers the best science park that we have ever been to and of course the beach is only 50 minutes away.

We chose this property because it has probably the best views in the village. It is the top floor of a small and quiet building with uninterrupted vistas of the mountain and reservoir below. It is ideally situated only a couple of minutes from the village with its lovely cobbled streets and fabulous little bars. The village is traditionally Spanish with daily visits from the bread van, fish van and fruit van, just listen out for the pip of the horn from the van! However there are still lots of small shops to get your essentials if you miss the van service!! The village is only 20 minutes from Granada, a vibrant city with so much to offer. The world famous Alhambra Palace dominates the city and is a Unesco world heritage site. It is breathtaking and an absolute must if visiting the area. Granada also offers tree lined streets, quaint bars, fabulous restaurants and flamenco! The ski resort of Sierra Nevada is only 20 minutes from the penthouse and offers some of the best and sunniest skiing in Europe. The season is long and often starts in November and ends in May. But there are also so many other activities in the area including walk/treks, mountain biking, horse-riding and paragliding.
The penthouse is situated on the top floor of a small, quiet building that is built into the hillside. It has no adjacent neighbours and is very private. This ensures that you have a peaceful holiday in a stunning location. The terrace has wraparound views of the mountain range and is the perfect spot to enjoy a meal and a drink with friends or simply to relax with a book and cup of coffee. I am happy to help with all aspects of your holiday planning and I will be pleased to put my specialist knowledge to use, having worked in the travel industry for many years. Many of my guests visit year after year as it is very easy to fall in love with Guejar Sierra. Please feel free to ask any questions about the Mulhacen Penthouse in Guejar Sierra.
Lovely clean, spacious apartment with fantastic views to the mountains, and everything you need to enjoy your stay.
Guejar Sierra is a delightful town. We loved the range of fresh food available in the town - bakery, fruit & veg shop, butchers, churros. A few words of spanish and a bit of pointing goes a long way. The Tranvia below the town is a delightful walk beside the river with plenty of rock pools for swimming, and some great restaurants to refresh your tummy. Our firm favourite was Casa Chiquito, but the Maitena is not bad either (and hugely popular with the locals). And delightful surprises at every turn - Viktor who rents kayaks also does canyoning & skiiing (by season). Teresa's grocery sells sherry by the litre from the barrel.
We had a fantastic stay at Guejahr Sierra and were warmly welcomed by Rosie. The apartment is extremely comfortable for a family of five, has stunning views from the large balcony, and is very close to the village square for bars and shops. Our highlights included: daily dips in the reservoir (clean and warm), trips to Granada (about 30 minutes leisurely drive away), and drives up into the mountains (including a cable car ride to the top from Sierra Nevada). Best of all, our stay coincided with the August fiesta so were treated to daily and nightly entertainment that ranged from horse racing, to flamenco, to brass bands, through to live music until 6am. Highly recomended.
A truly great place with all we needed for a family holiday. We combined village life and walking in the mountains with visits to Granada and the Alhambra. We arrived in the middle of the night and met with Rosie who was really helpful. In the morning it was great to wake up and open the curtains to see the magnificent views. Clare was also very helpful with driving instructions etc. The apartment was clean and nice and everything worked well. The village had all the needed services: restaurants, bars, bakeries... Maitena restaurant outside the village with the natural swimming pool was great, we recommend to walk there along the river. We can warmly recommend the flat to anyone who plans to stay at the Sierra Nevada region!
Perfect. The village of Guejar Sierra is wonderful - very friendly, stunning scenery, with plenty of places to eat and drink at very reasonable prices. Good location for reaching Granada by bus or car. Fantastic walks from the village in the hills and along the valley. The apartment provided everything we needed and was well located within the village. Rosie, the lady who welcomed us with the key, was English, and gave us plenty of tips and information. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a fairly peaceful holiday in an absolutely beautiful location, especially if you enjoy walking. (But it's probably not recommended to anyone with walking difficulties). We would love to return.
Our stay in Guejar sierra/ Granada was very convenient for visiting The Alhambra & Albaicin, 2 must visit sites in the region of Granada.
The apartment was bright, spacious with all the conveniences one needs. 3 generous bedrooms, 2 bathrooms a spacious terrace with great views of the Sierra Nevadas snow capped mountains.
The apartment was very easy to find and Rosie the house keeper was very kind and helpful, A bonus of a garage for parking was great.
The village is tiny with a selection of eclectic restaurants, a small supermarket, a bakery & many Bars of varying qualities.
The landscape, the walks near the village are breath taking, along with some very gorgeous mountain villages in Alpujarra region just a few Km away.
We enjoyed our stay and recommend it for guests wanting to visit The Alhambra especially as it was so easy to get to from Guejar Sierra

Arrived at about 2030. Follow the instructions given by the owner to avoid delays. First impression was CLEAN. It was still some daylight so I went out to the view that atracted me in this one in the first place. Gorgeous!!! The balcony gorgeous! If I was a novelist I could add more attracted words to describe the view. It's a dreame's view, however. The bathrooms spacey and clean. 3 bedrooms with 2 full size beds each, twin beds in one. Clean linens and towels with extras. ( Sorry if not keeping order. This is not an essay, lol) Air conditioning in full function. But this is sept, you can go without at night but hubby hot blooded. Neatly decorated, not busy! Nice size closets. Great size kitchen I did not use much. Going for tapas was more exciting and it's cheap! If you are used to sleeping in king size bed, these beds will be small for you. The TV did not work on arrival. Called Rosie and right away she took care of it. Ended up not watching the TV at all. Go figure:-) human nature. Don't undermine the hot water because it's hot! Careful with the tubs, they are high enough to get in and out
The cute apartment truly lovely. Bought one of Rosie's homemade preserves! Highly recommend this apartment.
Located in the relaxing and welcoming village of Guejar Sierra, a traditional spanish village with cobbled streets, a town square and a handful of tapas bars. There are also a few excellent restaurants within walking distance,
some of which have outside terraces and swimming pools which can be used by its summer guests.
From the village the historic city of Granada and its Alhambra Palace can be reached in under 20 minutes. The ski slopes of Sierra Nevada can be reached in approx 20 minutes (via the new mountain road). The beaches of Costa Tropical can be reached in approx 50 minutes. Stunning walks of all levels begin literally at the doorstep. Other activities including horse-riding, mountain-biking, canoeing, fishing and paragliding are also available. If you prefer a more relaxing break it is easy to spend the day visiting the bars (many of which still honour the tradition of free tapas) in the village and watch the world go by.
Ski: The apartment is ideally based for skiing at Europe's most southerly ski resort-Pradallono, Sierra Nevada. It is approx 25 mins away.
Sierra Nevada, which means 'Snowy Mountain Range', includes some of the highest peaks in Europe not to mention the highest concentration of peaks over 3,000m in the country. The Mulhacen, at 3482m, is Spain's mainland highest.
The ski resort of Sierra Nevada offers its visitors a wide range of facilities and a ski terrain to suit skiers & boarders of all standards. There are 70km of ski runs, 45 pistes and 300 snow machines guaranteeing snow on the slopes. There is also night skiing by floodlight!
As one of Europe's highest resorts it has a surprisingly long season and traditionally opens at the end of November running through to the end of April or even into the first week of May.
An important factor is that you are practically guaranteed sunshine throughout your stay! The resort is so far south the climate is superb for brushing up on your tan!
