Overview

Photos and Description of this 5 bedroom holiday home in Malvern Hills - Tickeridge Farm

Beautiful 5 bedroom country cottage set in grounds of 5 acres. Sleeps 9+1

A beautiful 5 bedroom English country cottage - ideally suited for getting together with family, friends and colleagues .

Its setting is perfect and wonderfully private – sitting in a large fenced garden with rolling lawns and views towards the Malvern Hills and surrounded by 5 acres of fields where you’ll find horses grazing. It lies outside the quintessentially English village of Hanley Swan with its village green, lily-covered duck pond and a very welcoming pub with an open fire. During the restoration of this 16th century house, great care was taken to preserve its original elements whilst incorporating all mod cons.

Massive 30ft kitchen with range cooker, granite worktops, breakfast area, table to seat 10+ with french windows onto the terrace, BBQ, outdoor dining and croquet lawn.

Large oak beamed living room with comfy sofas and fireplaces at each end and a TV/games/reading area with a Smart TV- iPlayer, Netflix.

Downstairs cloakroom and a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer

Upstairs two bathrooms - with baths, walk in showers and heated towel racks and five comfortable bedrooms - two double bedrooms with kingsize beds, one single bedroom with a double bed and two bedrooms with adult sized bunk beds.

As you would expect duvets with cotton bed linen and towels are provided; electricity and oil central heating is included as is an initial very large basket of logs to feed the fires. There are a number of TV/DVD/CD players, a Klipsch iPod sound dock and WiFi. In the well equipped kitchen there is a range cooker as well as a microwave, dishwasher and a fridge/freezer

An extra fold-up bed (for +1 child); a travel cot and high chair are available.

How fortunate we all were to be able to Christmas here.

A complete success - thank you.

We loved the cosy fires.

Fantastic long weekend stay

  • 5 of 5

Tickeridge Farm met all our expectations and then some! The previous reviews did not do it justice! We hired the farm for a weekend surprise birthday celebration for my husband, and everyone had such a fantastic time. The house was extremely clean and outdoor area well maintained. The little touches like wine in the fridge were much appreciated. Dugald was incredibly helpful and flexible with our big party, and really made our weekend special. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tickeridge Farm nor to stay again! Thank you so much.

Tickeridge Farm is a beautiful house, spacious, comfortable, set in a beautiful garden.

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 adults and 4 children spent a wonderful 4 nights at Tickeridge Farm, celebrating a special event. The house was very spacious and gave each member of the family space as well as providing the facilities in the kitchen and dining area to come together for celebratory meals. We were also able to accommodate a small drinks party for friends who live locally. It all felt like home from home and every need seemed to be provided for - all with great thoughtfulness. The garden was beautiful with spring flowers everywhere, horses just outside each window, a duck crossing the patio, and a family of goldfinches feasting outside, but also big enough to allow all sorts of ball games for all. We trekked on the Malvern Hills, which we know and love and had great games of cricket on the Malvern Wells Common and wandered amongst the bluebells there.

I would recommend the house and area to anyone.

Tickeridge Farm - Ideal!

  • 5 of 5

This property is perfect for groups of people - it is spacious with a sort of double living room with a fireplace and very large dining table and kitchen. The outside is idyllic with a little croquet lawn and a nice sitting area. It is a 10 min walk to the nearest pub and not far from towns such as Great Malvern. The property was clean and well-maintained with central heating throughout and a huge boiler to supply showers for 10 people!

Dugald, the owner was lovely, as was Mr White who facilitated the keys and information.

I would definitely go again!

Best cottage we've rented!

  • 5 of 5

There were 8 adults and three small children in our party. And the cottage accommodated us perfectly. The kitchen was very spacious and well equipped. The living area had lots of cosy corners and plenty of room for the children to play, boasting lots of character. But perhaps the best space for us was the garden. With a lovely patio and croquet lawn, adjacent to a horse field at the rear, and a pond and landscaped areas to the front, we played countless games of hide and seek! A big thank-you to Dugald (owner) and Mr White (caretaker) for their outstanding service and friendly manner.

In terms of things to do we visited the nearby National Trust's Croome Park and hiked across the Malvern Hills which were both interesting and stunning.

All in all a fabulous weekend at an amazing cottage! I would move in tomorrow!

Highly recommended.

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

All round a very good property and excellent owners.

I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this property.

We celebrated my parents 50th Wedding anniversary, age range 5-79, all having a very good time indeed. A lovely location not far from a very nice pub/restaurant (The Swan@Hanley) and Great Malvern has all the facilities you need.

Quintessential Country Comfort

  • 5 of 5

So our joyful vacation at Tickeridge Farm began with arriving just as the sun set over the Malverns, pastels arcing from west to east. This is a home set in a working agricultural landscape of views to all horizons, whilst inside the gracious landlord has designed a rental with all creature comforts. Our five week stay included a landmark birthday where friends from both sides of the Atlantic gathered around the generous table to celebrate. Despite wonderful restaurants nearby, we overused the kitchen that would make any home chef happy, enjoyed reading the paper in the morning sun in the comfortable sitting room, and spent many a quiet evening with the wood stove glowing. Despite the February mud, we embarked on several early walking adventures all around the Hanleys. And in March, how best to celebrate a 60th but to take 9 people to the nearby Herefordshire Beacon?

The two double bedrooms offer superb views and comfort, while the others give adults the ability to revisit childhood, two with very comfortable bunk beds, and a lovely single. No complaints from our happy friends who had gathered from three nations. The showers and bathtubs were generous. And, the caretaker was extremely kind and helpful, his proximity allowing easy answers to any queries about the house workings.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Local Swan pub which overachieves with 'gastro-pub' delights and a very kind staff who found our ever-changing array of British and American friends and relatives amusing. It was an easy walk of 20 minutes for the slow ones, along a sidewalk on the main road, since the shorter footpath across the fields was a bit mucky. All delightful.

We will be returning. After all, our Tickeridge Farm croquet champion has yet to be declared, with several ties. Great fun!
