Walking distance to Wrigley
The house looked exactly like the pictures. It had plenty of space for my family of 7. It was very clean. It was walking distance to Wrigleyville and a short cab ride to the city. We will definitely stay there again.
convenient, lots of room
This place made our stay so easy in Chicago. Short walk to CTA brown line into the city, walk to Wrigley, and with a parking spot!
We traveled wit 4 kids under 10, and there was plenty of room for them to entertain themselves. 3 full bathrooms was also definitely a winner.
It's really 4 1./2 stars.....!
The property was great for our large group. The pictures accurately reflect the apartment. The beds and furniture were comfortable. The neighborhood has great access to two L lines, multiple busses, groceries, restaurants, coffee shop. Matt was available easily when we had a concern.
To get a five star rating from us, we'd like everything to work - we had some temporary issues with the internet, and one of the showers didn't work - and I'd like to see more supplies in the kitchen - baking trays, some big bowls for salad, some decent knives and some basic cooking supplies like sugar and spices. But don't get me wrong, these were small things in an otherwise terrific rental. We would definitely stay there again.
Good for groups, esp. Cub fans
The unit is nicely renovated inside. The furniture is stylish and modern. The location is good—close to Wrigley and restaurants. There are several places nearby for meals that take online orders, so that was pretty easy for our group. We ordered from The Piggery (ribs) and The Roost Carolina Kitchen (fried chicken). We walked to get pizza for dinner, and the kids loved the candy shop on the way home. We used Lyft and we were 20-30 minutes away from everything we wanted to do. We walked to and from Wrigley for two games. The airport was about an hour away with typical traffic.
Mostly we found the unit as expected. It was generally comfortable but there were some details that would have improved our comfort. It didn’t seem super clean. My husband found a hair in the bed the first night and that was unsettling. There was some mildew in the showers. We ran out of toilet paper after 3 days. There were only 3 dishwasher packets for our 5-night stay. There were no washcloths in the bathrooms. There was no bathmat for the shower and only 5 bath towels for 4 of us downstairs, plus only 1 towel rack, so the towels were never dry. There were 2 hand towels for 4 of us downstairs, so that felt kinda dirty after a few days. I tried to buy laundry detergent at 7-11 but I’m allergic to fragrances and they didn’t have any I can use so I let it go. A hook on the back of the bathroom door or a shelf would have been nice while getting ready. Our family members reported there was no hot water in the master bath shower, but there was hot water in the master tub/shower. This was OK but made it difficult for a family member with mobility issues to step up and into the tub/shower. There were plenty of pots, pans, and dishes, and the kitchen worked well for us.
Let me explain the layout. On the main floor there is a master bedroom with a king bed and en suite bath (shower but no hot water so don’t count that shower, plus tub/shower). On the main floor there is a 2nd bedroom with a queen bed and a hall bath with shower. In the basement there are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and a twin bed. There is a bathroom with a shower. There is a nice den in the basement with comfortable leather furniture. Unfortunately all 7 of us were not able to hang out there together due to the stairs and mobility issues, so we mostly visited in the small living area / kitchen table.
Chicago is a beautiful city, and we had a wonderful time. This unit served our group pretty well.
Clean and roomy
The place was a little hard to find coming via the back alley way without a house number, but we found it. We got in really late so the lights were on for us which was nice. But it would have been nice to have known that in the checkin info that the lights would be left on for us. We didn’t think the unit was ours since the light was on. The place was close to everything we needed. Beds were comfy. Nice that there were 3 bathrooms. The shower in the bathroom with a tub did not run hot water though but that wasn’t an issue since there was the tub. The owner was quick to respond to any questions we had. We would stay here again!!
Great location. The bathrooms need to be deep cleaned, they were not as clean as I would’ve liked. A few of the light fixtures were out. Very spacious and nice, just needs some attention.
