About Wendy Head
About Wendy the property manager. I too have been holidaying in the area for many years and had the opportunity to purchase property in 2013 and 2014. I now manage this property too and have extensive knowledge of the area and understanding of what guests appreciate in their holiday home. We aim to provide excellent service, a home from home and plenty of information for a super stay. About us - the owners, the Alderman family. We have been visiting Cornwall, particularly this area, since we were small children. This really is a magical place of calm and tranquility. We find nothing better to help us unwind than to walk along Rock beach, sit and watch the world go by from the waterfront bars and cafes, then come home and set a log fire burning. We love driving to Polzeath beach and parking on the sand, so that we can walk barefoot on the beach and watch the waves crash in, below a clear blue sky. Our 3 boys spend their time surfing at Polzeath or hopping the ferry to Padstow Harbour for a cycle ride along the Camel estuary, followed by a pastie or fish & chips from one of the many local cafes and shops who produce their food daily from locally sourced produce. We love the convenience of having everything nearby, strolling to the beach and ferry and accessing all the lovely walks. Once in Cornwall nowhere is that far away and there are gardens and National Trust houses to visit, seal sanctuaries and tourist attractions. The Eden project is well worth a visit too.
Wendy Head purchased this Bungalow in 2015

What makes this Bungalow unique
We love the peace and tranquillity however everything you need is close at hand- beaches, sailing and water sports, beautiful walks, fantastic places to eat and watch the sun go down as well as the chance to see seals and dolphins in the bay or on boat trips. Child safe beaches nearby with lifeguards, shops to peruse and of course Padstow by passenger ferry day and night with all its charms and atmosphere, not to mention cycling the Camel trail.

Lovely house where we felt at home
Excellent house with all facilities that we needed and more, private enclosed rear garden, lovely main bedroom, cosy living room with dining area and well equipped kitchen. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend
Lovely spot, great living space
This is a lovely property with easy access to rock/Polzeath/Padstow. Good size bedrooms and the living space is great even with the sofa bed set up. Only thing we didn’t have was a freezer - meant we had to eat some twisters pretty quickly! May have missed this in the description, or just not found it but that was the only minus point. And as we were only there for the weekend did not cause much bother. Wendy provides clear instructions and was quick to respond to any questions we had. Thank you for a lovely base for our holiday!
Hi Megan, glad you enjoyed your holiday and it sounds like you managed to see lots of local beaches and villages. We have ordered a frdige/freezer and this will be delivered this Saturday. Maybe come back for a longer stay next time and explore even more? Wendy is a great source of knowledge and support. Best wishes, Tim.
Lovely property, conveniently situated for Padstow, Port Isaac etc. A few local shops and pub nearby
Lovely clean property. Bright and airy. Nice views from the dining area. Your own parking space adjacent to the bungalow in a quiet cul-de-sac.
An ideal base from which to explore Cornwall. A five minute stroll to the popular Pityme pub/restaurant, booking is advised. A further 15 minutes away is a Bakery, Fishmongers and Grocery Stores and a couple of takeaways.
A 45 minute walk from the property is the foot ferry taking you to Padstow.
Port Gaverne, Port Isaac and Port Quin are a short drive away, and absolutely gorgeous.
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, as did our three cats.
We were surprised to find there wasn't any form of freezer, not even an icebox in the top of the fridge.
Also we would have appreciated a welcome pack containing useful telephone no's for Dr's, vets, chemist etc. And the WiFi password. Also brochures and leaflets for Tourist Attractions and a Guest Comment Book for recommendations of local places would have been useful.
We left a collection of leaflets which we hope will be appreciated by subsequent guests.
Hi Tina, glad you enjoyed your holiday. It certainly is a beautiful and quiet spot. Apologies if you did not find the welcome book, containing the information you required. It is usually left on the dining table, with Wi-Fi password on the inside front cover. Thank you for your feedback on the freezer compartment, onto it!
Great place, great location, wonderful contact and so accommodating.
Clean, tidy and very well equipped. We felt totally at home and the place is just so tranquil. Awesome place to stay, we will most definitely be back! We lived every minute in the spacious and clean bungalow. Thanks so much for having us. It was our first family holiday and it was a super choice; space, location and facilities. Top marks all round.
Thank you Laura, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Lower Elms is a super property for families, with space outside too. Rock and the surrounding area has so much to do, a week is not long enough! Please do visit again.
Lovely place to stay!
A beautiful cottage with ample space inside. Everything was very well decorated with a range of differnet pictures, ornaments to give it a homely feel. Spotless clean inside and a well kept outdoor garden which was enclosed so perfect for a dog.
Kitchen was compact but full with everything we needed.
A lovely wood burner ( not needed as cottage well heated).
Have already recommended this place to friends and we would return again next year.
Thank you Karen, so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope we can help again in the future. Rock and the area is such a special place and a good base to get to most of Cornwall if desired.
Cosy cottage home from home
We had a lovely time at the cottage. It was lovely and warm on arrival and overall a wonderful place to stay. A quite cul de sack with a handful of houses in. Secure back garden for dogs . Ten minutes by car to the beach at Rock which is amazing . Beautiful area definitely be back !!
Thanks for your review, Lower Elms is really well placed for all you need in Rock and a short drive to all the glorious beaches nearby with coastal walks too. Hope you can visit again. Wendy
