About the property

This beautiful converted Loft apartment is situated in the stunning seaside town of Ayr, on Scotland's West Coast.

The Loft itself is a character filled apartment with original beams (circa 1900) and vaulted ceilings and provides all the luxurious modern amenities expected including an elevator and allocated free parking. It is very close to Ayr Town Centre and has amazing views from a juliette balcony over the River Ayr to the Carrick Hills in the distance. It is less than 1hr from Glasgow City Centre by train or road and only minutes from Glasgow Prestwick International Airport - with many lovely places to visit within close proximity to the apartment.

Originally 'The Granary' was the grain store for merchants Sinclair McGill (around 1900) and the charm of the original building has been lovingly retained to enhance the feel of the apartment which was converted initially around 2008. Entrance to The Granary is by way of a beautiful galleried entrance foyer from where you can take the elevator to The Loft @ The Granary which is located on the top floor.

On entering the apartment there is a lovely large entrance hall - with doors leading to 2 large bedrooms, a luxurious shower room and a stunning 27 foot long lounge/kitchen/diner. All rooms have been decorated in neutral tones with differing accentuating tartans - to enhance the feeling of luxury while being spacious but cosy.

Lounge/Kitchen/Diner (27ft x 13ft) - this area has a modern fitted kitchen with all the amenities you could wish for - a firdge freezer, dishwasher, hob, oven and microwave and leads to a modern dining area with a large oak table and Charles Eames style chairs - the perfect place to chill out and socialise in. The lounge has luxurious leather sofas with oak furniture and french doors leading to a juliette balcony with views over the River Ayr to the Carrick Hills in the distance.

Why Norma chose Ayr

I fell in love with this property due to the character of the building and the apartment itself. It has an immense feeling of spaciousness but with amazing original features - and stunning views over the River Ayr to the Carrick HIlls = whilst being in close proximity to the many Bars and Restaurants of the town and the many amazing golf courses close by.
