The property is a typical Herault village house, situated in a wine producing village. It has been recently redecorated and is furnished to a very comfortable standard.
The layout of the house lends itself to two couples holidaying together or a family with older independent children as it is on three floors.
The house has everything from fully equipped kitchen to BBQ area, and supplies linen, towels/beach towels and hair dryer to make it more convenient for those flying with low cost airlines.
The house dates from 1700s and is in the heart of a friendly village with bar, restaurant, small shop/supermarket, 2 bakeries, newsagents/tabac and several wine tasting 'caves'. Just a short walk away are the bakeries, shop, bar and local restaurant which also supply take-away pizzas, so you can enjoy lunch or dinner without having to drive. You can also ring the bell at a number of local wine producers 'caves' where' you can taste or buy some of the high quality wine from the region.
Abeilhan: Abeilhan is close to larger towns of Servian (swimming pool and large supermarkets) and to Pezenas (antique and craft shops, Saturday market and high quality restaurants). The village is a 15 minute drive to Beziers city for sightseeing,,Canal du Midi with its 7 locks and it's Cathar history and Feria in August..
The village is only 20 minutes from Beziers airport and one hour from Carcassonne and is a great location from which to explore this wonderfully diverse region, with it mountains, gorges, lagoons, Mediterranean beaches, wines and cuisine. Abeilhan is the ideal base from which you can explore the region on foot, bicycle and/or by car.
Languedoc- Roussillon/Herault Region: Languedoc is one of the biggest wine growing regions in the world with hunderds of miles of vineyards. The region is dotted with bustling, historic cities, vibrant market towns and some of the loveliest villages in France. Herault with its own micro-climate is one of the sunniest regions of France. The area of Herault offers mountains, rivers, beaches and is ideal for either an activity holiday or a relaxing get away from it all and a true taste of France.
Visit cities: Beziers, Sete, Montpellier, Carcasssone and Nimes
Beaches: Take a picnic to Sete, Meze, Valras or some of the meds finest beaches.
Gorges: Walk, hike in some of the stunning Herault or Tarn gorge or canoe on the Herault or Orb rivers
Mountains: Explore the Haute Languedoc National Park and Montagne Noire
Markets: Visit the local markets in Pezenas, Agde, Marseillan
Festivals: Summer is the time for local village festivals and in August the Feria in Beziers is in full swing (with bull-fights, optional!)
