We come to Paris for a yearly get away for 2 months. Those 2 months spent in Christine's
pied-a-terre afforded us the opportunity to enjoy beautiful accoutrements and furnishings, in sun-filled rooms designed with an eye for luxury. The attractive furniture was very comfortable, and the custom lighting and high ceilings added to a sense of quality in design. The apartment was spotless and well maintained.
The bed's mattress was so comfortable that sleep came quickly. And the courtyard which it faces was quiet.
Custom-designed storage in the bedroom closet was more than ample for two months' stay for 2 adults.
The kitchen area in this open floor plan was modern and easy to use for those nights we wanted to cook foods purchased from the Marche Bastille.
Christine was very conscious of our needs, and even accommodated us with a little shopping cart. The patisserie down the corner of this street sold excellent pastries, and restaurants are abundant. We intend to visit Paris again next year, and hope to rent 8, rue du Foin many more times in the future.
A quiet retreat in the center of the hubbub of Paris! Thank you, Christine, for the pleasure of sharing your wonderful flat with us. Jahn and Hal Laguna Beach
This apartment had everything we needed. The location was excellent with all amenities within a short walk - groceries, wine and cheese stores, bakeries and restaurants. Lovely apartment, nice and quiet for sleeping. Would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Paris. Although Christine couldn't meet us personally, she had someone meet us at the Metro and he showed us around the neighbourhood and also how to use all the appliances in the apartment. The only thing we would add to the kitchen was a tea kettle and tea pot for the tea drinkers like my husband.
The listing was very accurate for location, layout and facilities. The apt. was larger than we expected. Pastry shops and many restaurants were close by as well as lots of shopping. The apt. was very clean and well maintained. The owner met us and went over every detail very well. Christine even took us around the neighborhood to get us acquainted to the area. We would recommend the apt. to anyone going to Paris. We were about a half hour walk from Notre Dame. You can walk or bike from the apt. to many of the main attractions of Paris. It was close to the Seine which was great. We even walked to Montmartre which was about a one hour walk. You are also close to the metro. It was a very safe neighborhood. We were very pleased with renting this apt. and would recommend it to any of our friends.
We stayed in this very nice apartment in the Marais for one week in September. We found the apartment to be extremely clean and well equipped. It was conveniently located near wine stores (Nicolas) and grocery (Monoprix), both located about 3 short blocks away on rue Saint Antoine). Our greeter was very kind to take us around the neighbor and point out the nearest metro stations and acquaint us with the various things about the apartment. When we arrived we were treated to a nice bottle of champagne and a beautifully decorated table setting at the dining table. It was very clean and neat. The apartment was small, but that is to be expected in Paris. My wife found the closet in the bedroom a bit confining. The only criticism I would have is that the bathroom is on the exact opposite end of the apartment from the bedroom which was a little inconvenient. The apartment is billed as being for 4 people, but I would advise that unless the other 2 people are your children you might want to try another place. The couch pulls out to form a bed, but if one couple needs to use the bath and toilet facilities or use the kitchen it would require traversing the sleeping area (living room) of the other couple. I would recommend this apartment for a nice place to stay for a week in Paris for one couple or a couple with a child.
This is a lovely apartment in a great location - one block from Place de Vosges with easy access to 2 metro stops. The apartment is clean and well furnished, with attractive art and a comfortable sitting area. There are two large windows in the sitting area and one in the bedroom, which makes the apartment nice and airy. The owners left a beautiful table arrangement for our arrival along with a complementary bottle of champagne. The bedroom is comfortable with a large closet. The toilet is in a separate room from the shower, which is very convenient. The owners were very accommodating in greeting us when we arrived. Our stay coincided with a hot spell in Paris. The apartment is not air conditioned, but there was a fan that made it comfortable for sleeping. In addition, the owners were very responsive to our request for a second fan so that it was comfortable for sleeping in both rooms. The apartment faces a courtyard, and so is quiet and generally cool during the day. We found the kitchen well equipped for our needs. There is a fabulous patisserie just down the block, and there are many great restaurants and cafes in the area. We would highly recommend this apartment!
We were two ladies in our sixties who have traveled to Paris before but this was our first time renting an apartment... For comfort and convenience it was great, a friendly quiet neighborhood with good shops , the apartment was very cheerful and clean with modern amenities..Christine met us at the metro and showed us around for shopping and then went over the systems in the apartment and helped us hook our tablets up to wifi...the beds were good and we had plenty of heat and hot water and the kitchen was well stocked with appliances and pots and pans...the phone was available for calls home and the TV was there but we had trouble mastering the controls...the apartment was very quiet and faced an inner. Courtyard so we opened the windows at night for fresh air...it was a good neighborhood with good bus service which we used rather than the metro and we liked the local restaurants that Christine pointed out to us...we felt it was a good value and I would never stay in a hotel again as this is just an easier way to travel ...
