STAY IN VILLA LOU - JUNE/JULY 2019
We were extremely impressed with this property, which accurately fitted the description online. The villa was well appointed, the rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean, and with a most stunning view over Bitez Bay - each room has a balcony. The site has a really outstanding swimming pool (23m), which was never crowded and importantly, well maintained.
Bitez itself is pleasant, has a good beach and an array of restaurants on the sea front to choose from.
Lou and Peter were excellent hosts, assisted us with airport transfer and car hire. They also provided local advice on places to see and eat.
We recommend this villa to anyone wanting to experience and explore the area. Highly rated.
Great stay in Bitez near Bodrum
We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Lou in Bitez. Each of the three bedrooms has access to a balcony with an incredible view of the marina and shoreline. The kitchen was well equipped for preparation of our daily breakfast and in general, we can't think of any negative issues worth mentioning. Perhaps this would not be easy for people with mobility issues - the unit is on three levels so there are stairs to consider. However, this is to be expected with a hillside villa. Lou and Peter were excellent hosts and were available when we had a question. All in all, it was a very nice stay and we quickly felt right at home.
we were a group of five adults staying for two weeks, how I wish it could have been for longer! The photos of the villa do not do it justice, it is stunning and has every amenity you could possibly want during your stay.
The villa is very spacious with three large terraces all with fantastic views. Having three bathrooms was great, it meant nobody was hanging around for long waiting to shower. Great communal areas in the villa but also loads of room for everybody to have their own space.
Very close to all the restaurants, the harbour and the beach, the village is just a short Dolmus ride away with a great butcher and fishmonger if you want to make use, as we did, of the BBQ.
Peter and Lou were excellent hosts, very warm and friendly and always available if you needed anything but not at all intrusive.
Would go back in a heartbeat, thank you Peter and Lou for a wonderful stay.
Thank your this lovely review - it is always gratifying to receive such positive comments after having tried one's best to provide all the services that people might need to have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We aim to give our guests information about restaurants (and trips) which are great "local" finds so they really make the most out of their holiday. We look forward to welcoming you back to our villa sometime in the future. Best wishes Lou & Peter
Great place and location. Nice design and layout.
Very well equipped and comfortable villa on 3 levels. Glorious views from the dining balcony over the bay. Easy walking to the marina (you must try a boat trip to swim with the fish in the various "blue lagoons"). Local prices very reasonable, including dining out and the town of Bitez is also nearby. The owners are on site and extremely helpful and friendly. We all had a fantastic time. Thanks again to Peter and Lou.
We are so pleased that you had a great holiday and were able to experience the local Bitez area with its many restaurants and fabulous relaxing boat trips. Lou & Peter
Villa Lou Bitez
This is a very well presented and equipped property, right down to the sharp knives, barbeque charcoal and fire lighter. The owners were on site and able to provide friendly, first hand help and advice. Views from the main balcony, where there is a built in barby and great views over the bay. Try one of the boat trips; it's a must and the owners can help with this. It's a short walk down to the marina and cost is reasonable. The shared swimming pool is 23m long and not at all busy. We often had it to ourselves. The location is also handy for the local beaches and restaurants. The villa is well laid out and the ground floor kitchen/dining/lounge are is very spacious. There were six of us and we all agreed that the holiday was superb, not least because of the villa and the help and attention given by Pete and Lou.
Hi - so pleased that you all had a great holiday and were able to enjoy our beautiful swimming pool with its amazing views over Bitez. We try very hard to give our guests information about restaurants ( and trips) which are great "local" finds so they really make the most out of their holiday.
We stayed in villa lou for 11 days in June, a family of two adults and two teenagers.
The villa is excellent, the photos do not do it justice. The facilities and views are both top class.
With Bitez beach just a walk away for both day and night entertainment and the dolmus for bodrum just 200 yards walk this is a super location to spend a few weeks enjoying all that Turkey has to offer.
The villa is an ideal base for those who want to take part in water sport activities and lessons/ courses are available in Bitez for Sub-Aqua, Sailing and Windsurfing. There are numerous dive sites in the Bodrum Peninsula and dives can be arranged from the Dive boat in the Bitez Marina. We would be please to supply details upon request.
Bitez is an ideal base for touring or day trips.
Bodrum - St Peter's Castle - dating back to the 15th Century - approx 15 minutes by dolmus from Bitez.
Turgutreis and Yalikavak - fabulous marinas and weekly markets (Saturday and thursday) -1 hour by dolmus.
Gumusluk - site and ruins of ancient city of Myndos -1 hour by dolmus.
Ephesus - Temple of Artemis - 1 day and 2 days tours are available
Pammukale - UNESCO site- Calcium Pools - 1 day and 2 days tours are available
There is an excellent choice of bars and restaurants within walking distance offering both international and traditional Ottoman cuisine with good friendly service at reasonable prices.
Shopping lovers are spoilt for choice - there are weekly markets in several resorts within the Bodrum Peninsula - ideal for bargain hunters and three up-market shopping centres ( Oasis, Avenue and Mid-Town) with designer shops and restaurants.
There are daily boat trips from both Bitez and Bodrum marinas which stop off at secluded coves for sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling. Private gulet hire can also be chartered from the Marina.
The Greek islands of Kos and Kalymnos are within easy reach of Bodrum by boat and are popular day trips.
There are beautiful walking trails around Bitez, both coastal and inland, where the stunning coastal scenery, woodlands and historic ruins can be enjoyed.
Not to be missed is a visit to the Hamam – the Turkish bath for a scrub and soap massage – then why not follow that with an oil massage and feel more relaxed than you ever thought possible.
In addition to local activities there are jeep safaris, horse-back riding, river-rafting and Aquaparks visits are available should you require. To really get a flavour of the various resorts on the Bodrum peninsula we would recommend car hire to explore even further.
Bitez literally has something for everyone which perhaps explains why so many people return year after year.
