We really enjoyed our stay. Great views from the house. The property is flat, shaded, close to the water and has sandy access to the lake to swim, use the swim dock and kayak. There are neighbors on the cove however it was still quiet and private with the surrounding trees on the property. The next door neighbor was friendly and rarely home. Wonderful to be surrounded by nature and calm but within a short drive there are lots of stores and restaurants. We had some questions prior to our visit; Matt, the owner, was always quickly responsive by email. When we arrived, there was a welcome basket of treats and Matt called to welcome us and give his cell number for any questions/issues. Our only complaint is that we didn't stay for 2 weeks!!
Location and location
Was a wonderful week of great weather and swimming. House was fine with lots of room. The pluses outnumbered negatives. Owners did have a nice set up with kayaks and games for the kids. The furnishings were quite old and the water does seem to need a different filter system. For the price and compared to other homeaway places I have stayed, it does need some updates. Overall it is a fine place for a family vacation. The location is awesome. Thank you
Wonderful week on the lake!
Hopefully same time same place next year!!!
This camp is in a good location. We felt like we were away from everything but in five minutes we can access anything we needed.
When we arrived the cleaning people did a poor job cleaning. The owner was quick to getting back to us on our concerns about the cabin.
Overall we had a great time. The property was pretty and we all enjoyed the water.
I would encourage future renters to bring your own water, ice (the water has a high iron and effects the quality of drinking water) and you will need to buy town trash bags. Thanks
Great Quiet Location, but Cleanliness an Issue
We rented the property in late August with 4 adults and 1 dog. The location was perfect, in a quiet little cove. During the week, there was almost no one out and made for relaxing times by and in the water. The cove also meant little boat traffic, which was a plus as well. The supplied swimming noodles and kayaks got some good use and we enjoyed being out on the water.
We were also greeted with all the ingredients for making s'mores, which was nice.
The shaded yard and outdoor dining table made for a good place to hang out and dine. The reliable Wi-Fi and ceiling fans also made the stay more pleasant.
On the downside, there was almost no water pressure, so taking a shower was difficult.
Also, the firewood by the fire pit was uncovered and unusable by August as it was waterlogged.
And when we got there, the refrigerator needed some serious cleaning before we could put anything in it and there were many dishes and cutlery that were put away dirty and needed a good scrubbing before use. And they needed to be hand washed as the one time we tried the dishwasher, it left a film on everything and they needed to be washed again.
And we unfortunately were unable to use the grill. After taking the cover off and opening it up, I saw one of the most disgusting drills in my life. It looked like it had never been cleaned and was covered in mold.
And I would also suggest in the pre-stay info letting people know about getting the town trash bags. We had done our shopping before arriving and had to run out and get some before we could throw anything out.
Despite those hiccups, it was a great week where we all relaxed and enjoyed ourselves.
Everything we had hoped for!!
Everything we had hoped for. Clean, comfortable, and the perfect Maine setting. Close to town but with a lakefront ambience. Very attentive owner. Looking forward to our next visit.
