Quirky Cottage
The Old Wash Kitchen is a lovely Quirky Cottage with exposed beams and Yorkshire stone. It’s an upside down house with the living quarters on the first floor and the bedrooms on the ground. Full of character down to the bathroom which I assume was the coal cellar, you need to be careful of the door which is hobbit sized but the kids will love it. A good size for a small family holiday. Lovely comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. And above all a gorgeous view from the lounge window of the Yorkshire countryside. The property is in a pretty village in a quiet lane overlooking a stream with enough shops close by for anything you may have forgotten to take.

About the host

I have lived in Holmfirth most of my life and grew up in our family home in the cottage above. This cottage has been in the family too since then but I decided to let it out as a holiday home after I found myself staring out of the windows at the view every time I went up there. It's too beautiful to not share!
I live a couple of miles away in Holmfirth with my husband Darrell and have 3 sons and we aim to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible and look forward to welcoming you to our cosy cottage.

Why they chose this property

The views from the lounge are simply stunning and it's location on the riverside, and it being surrounded by similar, yet all different, Yorkshire stone character cottages make this the perfect place to enjoy the peace, tranquillity, history and beauty of the Holmfirth countryside whilst being in walking distance of the thriving centre of the market town and it's bustling and varied night life with something for everyone.

What makes this property unique

Besides the stunning views the cottage has original beams, exposed stonework and vaulted ceilings in the cellars, one of which houses the bathroom. The bedrooms are located on the ground floor so that the lounge upstairs benefits from the glorious views.
