Chapel cottage
Location was great giving access to north Norfolk. Cottage has a querky layout so be aware of low door frames and unexpected indoor steps. Cottage was well presented.

A beautiful, quirky house
It is better than the photos! Helen went out of her way to make our family Christmas celebrations just that little bit more special. She brought in more roasting pans and a veggie steamer (without any knowledge that that is my favourite way of cooking veg!), and the house was tastefully decorated for the occasion. We loved our welcome pack brimming with wine, bubbly, juice and special Christmassy things to eat - thanks so much! We were indeed very spoiled, and we even had a Christmas table cloth and serviettes. I was slightly apprehensive about the kitchen, which is long and mostly on one side, not being very convivial with the preparation of Christmas dinner - but it was more roomy than the pic suggests and I had ample room! The beds were sumptuous - so very comfortable I feel tired just remembering their comfort now as I write! We all loved the downstairs bathroom and huge shower - and the upstairs bathroom was lovely too. The garden was a lovely big size and we did manage to have a couple of morning coffees out there in the sun. We ate one night at the Warham Horseshoes -1.5 minutes' walk from the gate - and it was very good. There's a great snooker room too! We had a couple of long bike rides and some excellent walks - many that we learned about thanks to Helen and her recommendations once again. There are some excellent books on the area. We had a very cosy, comfortable, happy and fun time at Chapel Cottage which we all loved.

Delightful cosy cottage close to the Norfolk Coast
We had a lovely week in this cottage between Christmas and New Year. Very cosy, comfortable and warm with the log burner. Great location, close to the wonderful Norfolk beaches and walking distance from a local pub. Great communication and dining ideas from the owner. We loved it!

About the host

Our family has enjoyed the North Norfolk coast for years, and we had always hoped that we may one day be able to have our own little bolthole to enjoy the big skies and endless golden sandy beaches. We love North Norfolk, the dunes of Holkham, the beach huts at Wells, the salt marshes, its abundant wildlife and the beautiful countryside around Warham. We feel ourselves unwind and relax the moment we see the sea as we head for Chapel Cottage. There is so much to see and do here, you can never get bored. The pace of life is slower here, and so you can choose how much or how little you want to do. You can not fail but to go home refreshed. We are delighted to be able to share our passion for this beautiful part of East Anglia with our guests, and look forward to welcoming you to Chapel Cottage Norfolk.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with Chapel Cottage Norfolk the moment we saw it in 2017. It has that very rare mix of being close to all the busy coast has to offer, yet set in an idyllic North Norfolk village. Allowing you decide on the pace of holiday you want! Some days you can hear the whistle of the Wells to Walsingham stream train while sitting in the garden. The garden is enclosed and private with mature trees, and has enough space for the kids to play. There is a small playground in Warham as well as the Warham Horseshoes which serves great meals. Warham also has an iron age fort, which is walking distance from the Cottage, and makes a great excursion to work up an appetite, you could continue your walk through to Wighton (1.5 miles each way) and try out the Carpenters Arms which is another great pub with lovely food. We are lucky to have many great gastro-pubs & attractions within a few miles drive of the Cottage.

What makes this property unique

Chapel Cottage has two living rooms, one with a wood burning stove and LCD TV, the other with offers a comfy reading chair and a toy cupboard for the children. This is lovely if you want to kids to have their own space while you relax.
Chapel Cottage has one of the largest private gardens we have seen at a holiday cottage. Secluded with trees and plenty of seating, it make a great space for families to relax, or simply grab a good book and listen to nature for an afternoon.
Having a downstairs shower room is also a bonus, with a further bathroom upstairs. The property invites you to relax & unwind from the moment you arrive...
