About Jill

I'm the luckiest person to live and work here and am never going to get to the bottom of the list of things we want to do here. There's another pond to go in, more flagstone and all you lovely guests to meet from all over the world.

When we opened to guests four years ago I had no idea that it would be so enjoyable, it's a pleasure to be here and I hope it is for you.

Jill purchased this barn in 1988

Why Jill chose Cranbrook

We loved this area of England and spent 2 years looking for suitable land to buy, then spent ten years trying for planning permission and finally got it. We wanted to build in the true style of Kent and we hope you will approve of the results

What makes this barn unique

We loved this area of England and spent 2 years looking for suitable land to buy, then spent ten years trying for planning permission and finally got it. We wanted to build in the true style of Kent and we hope you will approve of the results

Our farm stands within a truly delightful 43 acres of beautiful quiet contryside with georgous view. We have two lakes of 12 acres to stroll around and over the last ten years we have planted 12,000 native broadleaf trees with walk ways through.

This all creates the perfect place to just chill out or explore the delights of south east England

Beautiful and comfortable cottage with a wonderful host.

  • 5 of 5

We're a family with two small children and the cottage was perfect. We brought out own high chair and cot, but the space for the children to run about and the fenced garden was great for them. Jill is a very generous host and we arrived to cake and scones. The beds are really comfortable - and the corner of Kent is beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great stay in quiet rural England.

We enjoyed having our first Thanksgiving in England.

We would recommend the internet’s speed be increased, if possible.

Wanted to stay forever

  • 5 of 5

Delightful cottage, well layed out and well furnished throughout. The vi-spring beds are so so comfortable, am now saving up to have the same at home. Kitchen was well equipped with top quality appliances and lovely couches facing a great big log fire for the evenings we were in, underfloor heating good too, we just wanted to chill out and it was perfect, am going to book again to come and see all the famous gardens around (Great Dixter and Sissinghurst) and all the National Trust properties. Some great pubs for dinner and particularly loved Rye.

Thank you Jill, see you in the summer

The ultimate relaxation experience in the beautifu

  • 5 of 5

We loved the very generous warm welcome with freshly baked bread, cake and scones and milk in the fridge for our first cup of tea.

The cottage is beautiful, warm and comfortable with complete privacy.

Loved the comfortable beds and rain showers. Wish we could have stayed longer.
