Fabulous Duplex In Callao Salvaje!!!!!

Situated just 15 minutes drive from Playa de Las Americas on the south coast of Tenerife is the coastal village of Callao Salvaje.

The duplex C6 of Callao Salvaje is quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Its location makes it a popular area to live for those who want to be near the 'action' but not stuck in the middle of it as it is situated between the bustling resort of Playa de Las Americas and the tranquil resort of Los Gigantes.

Originally, a small fishing village, over the past few years Callao Salvaje has undergone a rapid transformation. A self-contained village with a mix of residential homes and holiday resort and all the amenities required for both. There are supermarkets, a pharmacy, bars, restaurants, shops, car hire, bank etc. and only a 20-minute drive from the airport.

Callao Salvaje is a convenient base from which to explore Tenerife, only 10 minutes from areas such as Fañabe where you can find stunning natural and man-made beaches. Callao Salvaje's close proximity to the motorway makes getting around the island easy, whether it is heading north into Teide National Park or south towards the lively resorts, And, don’t worry if you don’t drive, there are plenty of buses and taxis linked to Callao Salvaje that will take you around the island.

Our stay at this duplex was amazing, everything we asked for.

He was very nice and sweet and always answered and helped out when ever we called and needed something.

The rooms are exactly how it is in the picture and he has alot of supplies to make you feel at home.

The pool area and the pool is an aamzing place to relax and enjoy the beacutiful wetaher of the island.

The rooms were clean, the location was great you right near all, beach, supermarket, restaurant, pharmacy ....

I would most definitely recommend it was a great peaceful stay.

One major extra plus was parking! Free parking always is a major plus.

There is WiFi and area is calm and quiet.

The vacation rental was spotless.

We came here for my sister's bachelorette party and it was such a fun weekend! The apartment has a big terrace with barbecue and an amzing swimming pool!!!

The kitchen is really nice as are all the bathrooms, and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here. The apartment, pool, beach, and location (about 10 minutes from Costa Adeje).

Finally, the property manager is very kind and accommodating, It was such a fun weekend for us!

Disappointing stay

On the surface, the apartment appeared ok. As described; it's a basic kitchen/living room downstairs with two small bedrooms upstairs.


- Functional layout of the home – it's basic but works well. Inclusion of a BBQ and washing machine is useful.

- The pool is clean and maintained by a man who popped in each week.

- Central location - not too far from beach


Noise: Difficult to get a good night sleep. The property next door has a big dog which they tend to leave on its own in daytime and evening. At night, barking starts at about 10pm and goes on and on….There’s also a refuse/recycling centre opposite the property (literally about 10 yards away). Glass recycling bins are emptied very early - which woke the family most days

The boiler: Needs looking at as it turns itself on and off again about every hour- even through the night

Steep stairs - as another reviewer mentions, the steep stairs here make this property unsuitable for families with small children

Flies - sadly our outside eating experience was ruined on a few occasions by large quantities of flies descending on the garden. Possibly linked to the dog next door which was clearly soiling in the next door garden.

Car - the car included was very low quality (I know it's included in price - which is possibly why). It appeared to have a slow puncture throughout our stay which we kept needing to top up with air if travelling any distance. It also failed to start on the morning we were returning to the airport...which meant a slightly panicked, urgent taxi was required...at our own expense!

So, in summary, not a property we'll return to. We’ve been renting on homeaway for over 5 years and had some lovely properties, but I guess you can’t be lucky all the time.

We have just returned Home after having another fantastic week in Callao Salvaje.

It was our second stay, and it won't be our last.

The house is extremely comfortable and has all the amenities of a home.

(PRIVATE POOL) !!!!!!!!!

Knowing Callao salvaje as I do, (having been there quite a few times over the years), I have to say the duplex is in an excellent location.

A 2 min walk and you're on the heart of Callao salvaje.

A 3 min walk and you're at the beach.

It's easy to get anywhere you need to by car, or on foot.

Hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do !!!

I have just returned from a fabulous two week family holiday. The duplex was a fantastic base for our stay. The rooms were clean and airy, the garden was lovely and had the sun till it sipped from the sky and the pool was great for a cooling off dip. Callao Salvaje is quiet but still has a number of good restaurants, the beach was lovely as it was so uncrowded. Having a car with the apartment was a real bonus, we travelled all over the island, into the mountains and to other beaches. Snorkelling with giant turtles in a nearby cove was a definite highlight. It would have been nice to have had some information about the area and things to do in the apartment. We hope to return again in the future.
