This is an equipped apartment in the best location in north Dobrota with the most fantastic view. Sitting on the terrace is even more stunning than the photo shows! The pool is well maintained, with comfortable loungers and never felt busy; again it has the best view over the bay, especially as the sun goes down. It is a steep 5 min walk down to the sea and the promenade where restaurants are located. The jettys tend to be private so finding a place to swim took us a little while on the first day- the little pebble beaches were possible and some restaurants/bars have jettys attached.
Daniel from Remote control, made us welcome and was available during the stay if we had needed him..
However, we found this property through owners direct. We usually book this way because it helps us to find places that owners love and care for. and we like dealing with the owner directly. It has always been very successful for us in the past. Please be aware that this property is managed by an organisation on behalf of the owner. We had NO arrival information sent before we left for our holiday. There was no contact with the owner following the automated confirmation reply. We only got arrival info on the day we travelled from our previous place and things did not go smoothly as a result. This has never happened to us before and caused us more stress that a holiday should have in it! Altogether there seemed to be five different people involved in different ways. The owner listed on this property on the owners direct website is different to the named owner on the key to the property. The management company told us they did not know of our booking until the day before. Please also be aware that on the 'about the property' page it does state a fee to be paid to the management company on arrival. However this is not listed on the payment page, so in our last min preparations, we thought we had paid in full, as the payment page said, so this caught us unawares.
This is a fabulous location for a holiday. The issues we experienced may be a one-off but unfortunately it spoiled our experience and our trust in the company has been shaken as a result.
Apologies that you suffered the inconvenience, but we have to have a management team on the ground in Kotor to organise cleaning etc as we are in the UK. In their defence their emails were not working so they did not get the usual email from me prompting them to send a welcome email and organise your arrival. This is the usual protocol.
Also the listing does clearly say there is a fee payable on arrival, which we told them not to collect because of the inconvenience you had been caused due to their email issues.
It's a shame that these issues diminished your stay at our flat by 40%.
Sam & Billy.
Amazing views, great apartment, wonderful stay
I stayed in this beautiful apartment for a week on a recent holiday to Montenegro. The apartment, perched above Kotor bay, outshone my expectations.
The view: The view is breathtaking - from the veranda with lots of room, wooden tables and chairs to sit eating or reading and watching the sunset over the fjord and mountains to the sitting room where the green shutters open out to the same view.
The apartment: Inside the apartment is very modern and clean. There's a nice couch, washing machine, good shower, nice kitchen where we cooked breakfasts, a decent fridge and air conditioning. There's a TV but you wouldn't really need it with the view! Also Daniel from the company managing the property was excellent and helpful if anything broke etc. We slept well, it was quiet at night.
Communal areas: The communal pool was well maintained with views out over the bay and lovely for a dip to cool off in the heat. Because Boka Heights only seems to have only about 20 apartments the pool was not too busy when we were there in late April/May. There are lots of steps up to the apartment from the car park and the pool so I was a little fitter when I returned home.
The area: We had rented a car (we like to explore rather than sunbathe) and this was an excellent place to explore from. Because Montenegro is small we easily saw Lake Skadar, Lovcen, Budva, Tivat in day trips and all the sights around Kotor. It's a short drive to the gorgeous old town of Perast
The shore is about a 5 minute walk downhill from the apartment (below the main road). Here there is a fab restaurant jutting out into the bay at the upmarket Forza hotel. There are other restaurants further along the seafront. There is a small supermarket about five minutes walk away on the main road.
It's a 5-10 minute drive to Kotor old town and a €5 taxi trip. It's about an hour of a nice walk along the seafront to Kotor old town (we walked this route at day time and at night) and about 30 -40 mins walk to lovely Elas restaurant Dobrota.
I'd a lovely holiday and would recommend this place to a friend.
Located in a beautiful bay, Kotor is a city steeped in tradition and history, with remarkable scenic views. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the old city was built between the 12th and 14th centuries and is filled with medieval architecture and historic monuments. Extending over four kilometres, the city walls that have protected Kotor for centuries lead up to the fortress of Saint Ivan, with its own spectacular views of the bay and mountains.
