Very cosy and great location

  • 5 of 5

Great location both centrally for most parts of Cornwall as well as countryside for the dog. Comfortable accommodation, especially open fire. Didn't get round to asking about the grave stone in back garden for the 3yr old who died in 1911?. Jason was very helpful and nothing to much trouble. Overall great stay and would return with no hesitation. Thanks again.

Full of character, well equipped and in a good central location

  • 5 of 5

This cottage had everything we needed, it was warm, comfortable, clean and very well equipped with everything in good working order. Although it's location is down an odd little road we had no problem finding it, neither did our son who arrived late on a very rainy night. The location is close to Liskeard, handy for provisions, and a great base to visit Looe, Port Isaac, Charlestown and a nice little cider farm! The owners were very friendly and helpful, on hand if you needed them. Our stay was in the rainy season but I would imagine it's even lovelier in nice weather.

Would love to come again!

  • 5 of 5

Very friendly and warm welcoming. The cottage was super nice and comfortable, with a lovely decoration, a pretty little garden, and in a very calm environment. Our favorite room was the beautiful and well-equipped kitchen! We felt really at home ... Hope to visit Cornwall again and to come back to the Cornish Cottage.

Séjour très agréable!

  • 5 of 5

Unusual location but convenient

  • 3 of 5

We had a shocker finding the place. I had made contact with the owners earlier in the day, let them know that we were running late, and wouldn't arrive until after 8. We had the most confusing set of directions to follow.. admittedly it was late, and we were stressed from dealing with strange roads and rush hour traffic, but we must have driven by the location several times without seeing it. It's at the end of a service lane, off the main road, and you have to drive past a wrecker's yard to get there - past overgrown car bodies and buses. Very atmospheric at twilight! When we finally ventured far enough to find the house, it was dark, and even more like a mystery novel gone wrong when we had to follow more instructions to find the wood shed, enter a combination without a light, to recover the key. Leaving the porch light on would have been just that little bit more welcoming. The house itself is fine, lots of quirky character, like you would expect from an old English farmhouse. I originally chose it because the location was halfway between all the coastal places we wanted to visit in Cornwall, and in that it served us well. We stayed in a rainy week in summer, and felt the cold. We're not familiar with the heating systems used here, and could not work out how to program it to stay on more than 15 minutes. It took us a few days to realise the house was actually semi-detached from the owners' residence. Lots of reviews mentioned how friendly the owners were - and my dealings via email were always pleasant - but we saw hide nor hair of them while we were there. They may have been respecting our privacy - but I don't think it hurts to just check in personally and say, hi, how are things going, any questions.. Perhaps our fault in being too shy to ask, but this was our first experience of staying in a HomeAway residence, and we were learning the ropes. Don't get me wrong - nothing here detracted from our holiday experience - we just made the most of it, and have had a few good laughs since about our Cornish side trip. Beautiful region to visit, whatever the weather.
