Lanhydrock is just around the corner as are other great gardens like Cotehele and the Eden project. The north coast beaches and fishing villages are within 30 minutes, Polzeath, Padstow, Watergate bay and much more.

Cornish Cottage provides 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6 comfortably. It has a large lounge with open fire and a farmhouse kitchen and comfortable dining. The house is arts and craft and has charm and beauty.

Cornwall's World Heritage area is nearby with Bodmin Moor right on your doorstep. A central location and Country House ideal for exploring Cornwall by families.

Cornish Cottage is on a rural no through lane,in the countryside. It is built on land overlooking the river Fowey in an protected area of Great Landscape Value. Surrounded on 3 sides by fields and woodland it is a wildlife magnet, deer, fox, otter, sparrowhawk, owls, bats, toads buzzard and countless other birds are regularly seen.

Cornish Cottage is an a central location easy to access many of Cornwall's attractions. Bodmin Moor World Heritage site is 10 minutes away where you can visit Caradon Copper Mines and travel back in time to the Bronze age stone circles, the hurlers and visit the ancient Treverthy quiot

Built in 1896 in rubble stone with castellated cast iron gutters and slated roof lintels for each window. Built for as a farmhouse and part of the estate of George and Mary Hermon curate of St Neot of Doublebois House. The house is featured in kisses on a postcard, the story of a boy evacuee in the hamlet of Doublebois.

Enter the house into a hallway from which 3 doors lead off. Into a comfortable south facing lounge with vaulted ceilings and a working fireplace. Or into the kitchen decorated in traditional paints, with a solid fuel burner. The third doorway leads into a small converted larder, now a toilet.

Upstairs the hallway leads to three bedrooms. The first master bedroom faces south and is decorated with William Morris wallpaper and an art deco fireplace. The second bedroom has a large window and a small feature window which adds great charm.

The third bedroom is perfect for kids with a double bed and a single camp bed and easy access to the bathroom.

Cornish Cottage has rural views and faces east.

Picturesque Cottage

A very comfortable, beautiful cottage, shabby chic which is as expected although the bathroom decor (not the fittings) need some attention. The approach to the cottage isn't great but we were forewarned so not a shock and certainly didn't affect the stay, it was very peaceful. A minor detail but would flow better when using the kitchen, I'd move the kettle to the cooker side so you have the cups, cutlery & milk all in one place but that's just a personal view & whoevers staying there can move it. The kitchen had everything we needed my cafetière was left redundant in my car boot! I found the hairdryer but a nod in the right direction might be useful in the cottage instructions, I would also expect pillow and mattress protectors. Well, it goes without saying all you need to bring are your clothes, this was a beautiful place to stay.

Lovely cottage and spotlessly clean

Don't be put off by the access to the cottage. This is a lovely place to base yourself to visit Cornwall/Devon. Everything is spotlessly clean and the cottage has a homely feel. The grandchildren loved the Easter egg hunt around the garden. Jason welcomed us with a bottle of wine and we enjoyed this around the wood burning open fire. We would definitely love to go back

Owner's Response: Our cleaning team is amazing and our beds are very comfortable as is the pressurised hot water system. If we are around we will welcome you and can by agreement even get the fire on in winter. The gardens and rural views and walks on the doorstep into wild and hidden Cornwall are part of the treasure of this area.

Tidy, well stocked, comfortable, peaceful setting, well established garden

Nice place to spend a couple of day's, plenty of room for 6 people, beds are comfortable (A little on the soft side) I would say take your own towels as we found we didn't quite have enough but that's just personal choice. Would love to see the garden in full bloom :) beautiful array of flowers :) lovely holiday house

Cornish Cottage, Doublebois

Cosy, comfortable and clean cottage in lovely, secluded location within easy reach of A38. Ideal for a family break. Well equipped. Very comfortable and good sized bedrooms. Access to main bathroom via bedroom not ideal and hallway very small but didn't cause us problems. Met owner on arrival.......very friendly and helpful. Secure garden good for dog. Convenient for both North and South Cornish coast and Bodmin Moor. Reasonably priced. Would recommend.

15 min from the hurlers stone circle, Bodmin moor World heritage area, Golitha falls. Half an hour from the Eden project. 25 min to Looe, Polperro, Cawsand and Kingsand and Fowey. Half an hour from beaches at Polzeath, Newquay fistral, Bedruthan steps Trebawith Strand on the North Coast and Tintagel. 25 min from beaches at Seaton and Whitsand Bay on the south coast.

5 min from Lanhydrock national trust house and gardens, 15 min from Pencarrow 30 min from Cotehele, Mt Edgcumbe.

Nearby walking and mountainbiking at Cardinham and Bodmin Moor with miles of bridleways. Camel valley bike trail and vineyard are 15 min away.
