Relax in this beautiful and tranquil villa
Marinos and Eleni were exceptional hosts. Villa Marinella exceeded our expectations. The photos do not do it justice. We would thoroughly recommend for an idyllic holiday in Kefalonia. Trips to Sami 10 minute drive a beautiful port and within walking distance an amazing rustic and traditional taverna, Robolis. We will return! Thanks you both look forward to the next time ...
Thanks again Emma,we hope to see you again.!
Beautiful Villa in Central Location
What an amazing experience! The owners were so incredibly kind and helpful every step of the way. The villa was even more breath taking in person than in the pictures. The views and peaceful location were like something from a movie. And the location on the island was perfect to easily access all over Kefalonia. We hope to return to Villa Marilena very soon!
Super house in Chaliotata
A wonderful house, with lots of thought put into fitting it out. We loved the quietness - and particularly the pool - but also enjoyed being able to get into Sami easily. Wish we had goats' bells near where we live! Marinos and Elena are marvellous hosts and we appreciated all that they did.
Fabulous villa, fantastic hosts, beautiful scenery
A beautiful villa in quiet surroundings making for a very peaceful getaway. Marinos and Elena were wonderful hosts, warm and welcoming. The villa is just as pictured, very clean and homely and well equipped and the pool is well kept. Marinos and Elena have thought of everything. The views from the villa are stunning. We would definitely come back for another wonderfully, relaxing holiday.
Thank you for staying to our villa, we hope to see you again.
Best wishes ,
Beautiful comfortable home, very well furnished. The property is quite on its own. There are two taverners about a mile down the road, only open evenings from about 1900hrs. The food was typically greek, both did homemade chips,I would recommend going. The home has lovely views of the sea, especially from the upstairs balcony. It is surrounded by shrubs and thicket,an amazing feeling of being completely away from hustle and bustle. The sound of bells from the sheep and roaming goats is quite special,Plenty of singing cockerels early morning. The home is clean and spacious, water pressure for taking a shower is fab. There are three toilets, one of which is downstairs is a real plus. The owners Marinos and Eleni provided us with a bottle of local wine and some other sundries on arrival. They were great hosts. We will definitely be returning to this lovely house.
Beautiful villa in a great location
My family and I had a fantastic week in this beautiful and very comfortable villa. The peaceful location is ideal for touring the island and the views across to Sami and the coastline are wonderful. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and we certainly appreciated the bottle of local wine that they left for us on arrival! We were sorry to leave and if visiting Kefalonia again we would have no hesitation in booking Villa Marilena.
The villa is located in an ideal location, with great views and easy access to restaurants, bakeries, shops etc. This region is known for its many caves, in particular the Drogarati Cave with its amazing stalagmites & wonderful acoustics and the Melissani Lake with its beautiful blue cold water. The beautiful beach of Antisamos is located just a couple of kilometers outside of Sami and well worth a visit for its setting and beautiful clear waters. The hilltops between Sami and Antisamos have interesting historical ruins like the medieval bell-tower of the Monastery of Panayia Agrilion amazing views of the Bay of Sami, Ithaki and down to Antisamos beach , plus the walls of the ancient acropolis called Kyatis and the ruined Monastery of Agia Fanendes. From Sami the northern runway to the sea will drive you to the Agia Paraskevi beach or the harbour village of Agia Efimia and onto either Myrtos Beach or further north the tranquil village of Fiscardo. Whilst a drive to the south of Sami takes you to Poros and the lovely sandy beach resort of Skala. Halfway between Sami and Argostoli you can skip and visit the biggest mountain of the Ionian Islands “Enos”. There you will discover the unique fir “Abies cephalonica Loudon”. National Park lacks big mammals. An important exception is a small team of small horses, “Equus caballus”, which they live freely in semi-wild state. The mountain will reward you with the magnificent view. Argostoli is only a 30 min drive away and another option if you are looking for a more buzzing atmosphere and night life.
