Close to Shaldon and Teignmouth

Light, contemporary and spacious waterside home situated on a hillside with stunning views of Teignmouth / Shaldon estuary. Escape away from the crowds to this private retreat set in acre of landscaped gardens and viewing platforms. 5 Good sized bedrooms (2 en-suite) with panoramic views and an open plan living space ideal for families or entertaining. 20 minute walk to Teignmouth or 15 to Shaldon over the Shaldon Bridge.

Accessed via a private driveway, and perched on the hill The Curlews sits looking out over the Shaldon/Teignmouth Estuary (The River Teign).

Stunning views of the ever changing landscape can be seen from every room. The driveway can comfortably fit 5 cars. There are steps leading up to the front door.

Once inside there are two downstairs bedrooms (one en-suite with glass shower and free standing stone basin) with a large superking size bed and built in wardrobe and the other with 2 cloth bunk beds allowing you to sleep 4.

As you come up the stairs you enter an open gallery and a couple of steps into large living and dining areas with high vaulted ceilings and array of lighting to help create your mood.

A brand new kitchen with breakfast bar, integrated fridge, freezer, dishwasher, tumble drier and washing machine and of course the all important chiller for champagne. Cook on the induction hob whilst looking out to sea and watch the boats and Sunday morning rowers go by. A dining area for 6 just in front of the large patio with access to the Terrace where you can dine "alfresco" watching the tides.

Sit back and relax in the lounge with a 4k ultra smart TV and integrated freesat to watch your favourite programs or films. Or, use the sun room with glass walls giving you full views up and down the estuary.

Keep warm in winter with underfloor heating through the lounge and kitchen/diner areas all controlled by an intelligent internet HIVE heating system.

Upstairs there are 3 further bedrooms. The master with super kingsize bed, HD Smart TV, and walk in wardrobe which faces the front of the house. Shower in the en-suite wet room looking out towards Shaldon and try the mandarin stone sink or open the double doors to your juilet balcony and let the breeze come in.

There are two further bedrooms with double beds to the side of the property both with patio door access to the gardens. The family bathroom is on this level where you can use a mandarin stone sink and soak in the x large bath complete with fountain tap and overhead shower.

The mature gardens are set on various levels. There is an entertainment deck with dining area, outdoor sofas or relax on the sun loungers. If you are feeling energetic you can climb to the top of the garden and take in the views along the river to Dartmoor and its Tors on a clear day.

Please note that a 10 person hydropool spa and terraced area to the left side of the property is currently being designed and planned for implementation during the summer months of 2018. However, no works will be undertaken whilst guests are in residence.

About Fiona Gardner

We fell in love with this view over 10 years ago and have never tired of it. The weather reflects in the water and makes it ever changing. We have two daughters and have loved living in this part of the world and embracing all that Teignmouth has to offer.
