Background
At the end of 1400, Leonardo da Vinci indicated the village with the name "Mumilla" witnessing the existence already. It is an ancient Romanesque manor house, made up of several buildings built in stone and brickwork, as well as the Church of S. Frediano dating back to the year 1000. Today some of the buildings have been faithfully rebuilt, few others are still in the state of being ruined and waiting for reconstruction. Near the town there is a characteristic colonial building, once used as mud-therapy, which is the oldest spa resort in the municipality of Gambassi Terme, now rebuilt and re-activated. The sulfur spring water has highly respected hypothermic properties. Recognition by decree Ministry of Health n ° 3843 of 07/05/08.
