About the property

Located in a secure, private domain, close to Beaulieu, Eze, Cap Ferrat, & Nice.

'California meets Provence' in this south facing, open-air villa, with antique stone floors, period French chimneypiece, and magnificent, high ceilinged, light-filled living room.

Every room has a magnificent view, whether you are having breakfast in the kitchen, lunch in the open air dining room, a glass of rosé on the terrace, or lounging in the pool....it is VIEW, AFTER VIEW, AFTER VIEW, of

the cerulian waters of the COTE D'AZUR.

The terraced gardens have a dozen olive trees, a citrus grove, and fig trees.

Squeeze freshly made orange juice from your own trees. And enjoy

barbecuing in the outdoor kitchen.

Enjoy the daily morning market in Beaulieu, nestled beneath the majestic lower Alps. Dine in one of the plentiful port restaurants, drenched in mid-day sunshine. Walk the lovely walk from Beaulieu to St. Jean, Cape Ferrat along the sea, or walk around St. Hospice on Cap Ferrat and reward yourself with a swim & lunch at Paloma Plage. Browse the chic boutique shops in St. Jean, Cap Ferrat. Day trip to Italy for the markets, upmarket fashion shops, and lunch at Bordaghera or San Remo.

Drive 15 mins. to old Nice or Monte Carlo, 45 mins. to St. Paul de Vence, 10 mins. to Eze Village, 45 mins to Italy, 15 mins. to the the Grand Hotel de Cap Ferrat....it is an absolutely unbeatable LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION...

In summer, inhale the fragrances of rosemary, lavender & jasmine, and the enjoy cool breezes riffling through the open air villa. Watch the cruise

ships, slipping out to sea from Villefranche Bay under moonlit skies. In winter, enjoy the underfloor heating & stunning fireplace.

Listen to a sweet symphony of local birds, and watch them swoop and glide high above the sea. Villa Blanc/Bleu is a quiet, peaceful retreat from it all, a place to relax, unwind, and rejuvenate the soul, no matter what season you choose as your favorite. It benefits from complete quiet...except of course for the morning bird's choir.

Enjoy the heated infinity pool, perfect for a bit of exercise or a refreshing dip. Lounge for hours with a book under a parasol on the glorious Cote D'Azur, gazing out at Villefranche Bay, with an abundance of both contemporary and classic boats arriving for the weekends. In the distance, winks the Cap Ferrat lighthouse, a safe haven beacon for incoming mariners to Villefranche Bay. Across this bay, frequent summer fireworks illuminate the sky, which are directly in front of the villa.

About The Owner

Beth and Eddie have owned this villa for the past 15 years as it is their favorite place in the world. They both had International careers in Communications and chose this part of France to retire from advertising. They spent part of the year here and part abroad.

Beth is originally from Boston and Eddie was born in Cuba and they both met in Hong Kong.

They are tireless travelers, foodies and wine lovers.

The Owner purchased this villa in 2000

Why The Owner chose Villefranche-sur-Mer

We wanted to buy in Europe, but the next question was where? We wanted: a sea view, clean water and beaches, proximity to an international airport, a mix of both locals and international people, good motorways, and proximity to Italy (which was our second choice). We wanted excellent health care, excellent local produce (we love to cook), and delicious and refreshing wines. And we wanted to be in a country that respected its coastline, and did not allow it to be ruined by commercialization or tacky tourism.

What makes this villa unique

When we first walked into this house we were amazed by the views and the light. It's true indoor/outdoor living, yet you have the coziness of comfortable furnishings and the old-world charm of Provencal touches. We also appreciate the security of a private domain and the proximity to Nice, Monaco, and Italy. We spend almost as much time in Italy as we do in France.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our warmest thanks for your generosity in letting us spend a wonderful and memorable week in your beautiful villa. All six of us greatly enjoyed our family holiday together, particularly as we were lucky to have unbroken sunny weather

from dawn to dusk every single day.

The Villa is truly stunning in its location, its surrounding garden and most of all in its architecture and interior features. You have furnished and decorated it with outstanding taste, flair and attention to detail throughout. Just to walk round viewing its eclectic collection of furniture, pictures and ornaments was a rare pleasure in itself, heightened particularly by the careful and imaginative way they

have been placed throughout the villa. The overall impact is hugely impressive !

Thank you again for letting us share the pleasures of Villa Castellet for a memorable week!

Glamorous Riviera living at it's best.

  • 5 of 5

We can't recommend this villa highly enough - even my impossibly cool teenagers were impressed, which is saying something! A fabulous location with the best view on the Riviera, overlooking Cap Ferrat; beautiful, unfussy decor and an incredible infinity pool surrounded by a lovely terrace and garden. We loved picking oranges off the trees to squeeze for breakfast, eating in a dining room with windows that drop into the floor and relaxing in the glamorous living room, watching the boats sail around the Cap. The villa has all the facilities one could want, including a barbecue and outdoor kitchen and is very organised and practical (all the white chair covers are removable and washable). Clearly the home of a good cook, as the kitchen has a good size fridge, all the utensils you might need and a stock of basic spices, etc. Kids were very happy - lots of space in the bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, satellite TV and good wifi. We loved Beaulieu, located directly below, which still has a lovely village feel, away from the crowds - just perfect for morning coffee overlooking the market and a browse around the boutiques, but also has a supermarket with car park for major shopping. Perfectly located to explore the Riviera - midway between Cannes and Menton and close to the motorway for trips further afield. We couldn't fault it and can't wait to return.

The most relaxed rejuvenating holiday imaginable

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we first stepped into the hall the atmosphere and tasteful furnishings of this stunning villa made the whole family smile. On entering the lounge the true magnificence of the view had us all catch our breath.

Our mornings started with a walk to the Boulangerie for croissants and bread and our days spent relaxing by what is surely the most wonderful infinity pool in Villefranche with the most magnificent view of the Mediterranean and St Jean Cap Ferrat.

No pictures of this villa could possibly do it justice.

We found it spotlessly clean with fresh flowers and a generous welcome pack including an array of fruit, fabulous cheeses, french bread and a bottle of wine.

We would thoroughly recommend this villa to anyone thinking of spending any time in this most wonderful part of the world.

Location, Location, Location! Situated between old Nice and glamorous Monaco, in the 'golden triangle' of the villages St. Jean, Cap Ferrat (elegant well-preserved fishing village), Villefranche-sur-Mer (previously an Italian town until the 1800's, with the prettiest port on the Riviera), and Beaulieu (quintessential English, Belle-Epoche village), this villa is perfectly situated for taking a day trip

to Italy (40 mins.), or going to St. Paul de Vence, Antibes, Biot, Eze, Menton, La Turbie, or take a ferry out of Nice to Corsica.

The Italian border: 35 minutes, St. Paul: 40 minutes, Monaco: 13 mins., Nice: 10 minutes. The very well known French immersion school L'Institute de Francais is 2 km from the villa.

There are innumerable day trips to be taken from this perfect Riviera location!
