We live on a family farm half a mile away from Letter Box Cottage and the farm has been in the family since 1919 so as you can imagine we know quite alot about the area by now! Letter Box Cottage was bought for when we hang up our wellies but that has not happened yet ..... so enjoy it as we both do.
Julia purchased this Cottage in 1999
Why Julia chose Ebrington
When I saw the cottage was for sale I just fell in love with it. The thatched roof with the door in the middle and windows either side just looked as if a child would draw this type of house. The Victorian letter box that is inset into the wall gave it its name. It needed very sympathetic renovation and has retained all the original features whilst having all the creature comforts.
What makes this Cottage unique
Charming cottage garden, beams in most rooms, open fire and quirky fire seat and large inglenook.

Peaceful cottage in the Cottswolds
Excellent location to unwind and rest, or use as a base for exploring some of the small towns in the area.
Cottage was very nice. Neighbors were welcoming. We really enjoyed our time at the LetterBox cottage.
Definitely a memorable place to stay.
Julia was a pleasure to work with. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your property.
Fantastic Location and Quintessential English Cottage
If you are looking for authentic thatched cottage in Cotswolds this should be on the top of your list. We spent 3 nights at the cottage with 2 adults and 2 children. The bedrooms were very generously sized and the beds were extremely comfortable. The lounge is more than large enough for a party our size and the kitchen had all the appliances and accessories we needed. You will want to have a rental car because there is not a lot within walking distance. If you had a strong desire to you could walk to Mickleton but it’s about 2 miles to a pub or the local shop.
As other reviews have said, Watch Your Head. All of us hit ours a number of times. It tends to happen on houses of this age so don’t let it discourage you. It’s a lovely cottage and make sure you take a walk on the public paths around the area. They are beautiful!
Exactly what you'd expect
This is a charming place, with a beautiful garden and very pretty. Very pleasant place to go for a walk, or a run. Convenient to may places, as others have said in their reviews.
Ceilings are a bit low (nothing to be done about that but I quickly got in the habit of walking hunched over, I'm 6' tall), and shower is really small (once again, not sure you can do anything about that), but those are really minor.
TV could stand to have a better cable package, so if you come during any major sporting events (we were here during the women's world cup), you probably won't get any of the games - but let's face it, it's a long way to come to watch TV.
Owners are super nice and helpful.
If you're looking in this area, and this is the kind of place you like, you won't be disappointed.
Short stay in Letterbox Cottage
We arrived at the cottage on a grey cold and miserable afternoon in June, absolutely charming cottage beautifully furnished and equipped, the heating had kindly been left on by the owner which added to the welcoming feel! The cottage garden is delightful and the village of Hidcote Boyce unspoilt and a superb base for exploring the wonderful Cotswolds!
Had a great stay in this property,it’s exactly what you expect ! Could do with black out blinds in bedrooms as it’s very bright and maybe a bigger tv ,as it was nice to stay in after being out all day . Can recommend it ! Also good off road parking.
Your suggestions have been noted but pleased you enjoyed your stay.
Relaxing Getaway in the Cotswolds
Our stay at the Letter Box Cottage was excellent. The cottage was charming in every way. It was like stepping back in ti.e while still keeping the modern conveniences. The location was a great jumping off point to visit villages in the area and for walks on the public footpaths. Hidcote Gardens was an exceptional find only a one mile walk away. A "must visit." Julia was also great to work with.
Thank you,. I am pleased that Letter Box Cottage enhanced your North Cotswold experience.
Hidcote Boyce is a hamlet 3 miles from Chipping Campden known as the 'prettiest High Street in the Cotswolds'. Bourton-on-the-Water, Burford, Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon are a short drive away. Warwick Castle, Burford Wildlife Park and Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park are great days out for children. Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe and nearby Hales Abbey are recommended. Blenheim Palace in Woodstock and Woodstock itself makes for an interesting day out. This area is famous for the Arts and Crafts movement as well as delightful gardens. Each year in June Skuttlebrook Wake is held in Chipping Campden and there are also various farmers markets and events throughout the year.
