The house has 4 full-time staff including a cook, a chambermaid and housekeeper. Guests can relax and have the option of having all their meals prepared each day while they enjoy the villa and neighbourhoods facilities, the house and rooms are maintained to the highest standards by the staff. Six of the bedrooms are fully air-conditioned while all the other is well equipped with fans.
House guests can relax and be served drinks on the deck by the pool or on the terrace under the gazebo. The famous Anse Chastanet beach is only a short walk away and the opportunity for activity and adventure is unlimited.
My wife and I, our son and daughter in law and granddaughter stayed at the Villa for 8 days this summer. The stay was exceptional and we would recommend the Villa without qualification. The living room, dining area and pool area are all open air to the sea with world class views of the Pitons. The photos do not do it justice. The views are as good or better than at Jade Mountain, which is near by. The pool is small but construction is under way on a larger pool and 2 more bedrooms. Currently there are 5 bedrooms (4 air conditioned) and 3 baths. Although some of the reviews for some of the resorts had trouble with mesquitos, that was not our experience here.
The stay included a staff of 2 housekeepers, a cook and gardener.. Everything was very clean, with fresh linens daily. Also our laundry was done every day and neatly folded in our rooms on our return from our daily activities. The cook was wonderful making mostly local dishes which were delicious. She would do 3 meals a day if you wanted although at the beginning of the week we went over a menu and choose some meals to eat out.
There was internet access (bring your own laptop). Adult and child games, toys and DVDs were on premises.
The beach is a 10 minute drive and too far to walk. The Villa has a service pick you up at the airport and takes you to the Villa since it is difficult to find on your own. Our rental car was delivered to the villa the next day. I drove and we saw many of the island's attractions. However the driving is difficult to say the least. One local said if you can drive in St. Lucia you can drive anywhere. I have traveled all over the world and would agree. The road to the Villa is a real adventure but it is the same road to Jade Mountain.
This is an outstanding property especially for families and small groups. Don't let the driving keep you away.
What can I say about Bananaquit...the views will be imprinted in our minds and hearts forever. How blessed our group of 13 (9 adults, 4 kids) felt while there and continue to feel whenever we think of the house.
AMAZING
The VIEW!!! Wow - it truly is spectacular and special. It can't be overstated
The STAFF!!! They were all really lovely. There every day but not intrusive at all. Incredibly helpful and accommodating!
The GROUNDS!!! We all felt like we were living in a treehouse for a week...in the best possible way. You'd wake up with the birds chirping which was wonderful.
GREAT
The rooms were lovely...very different configurations throughout... I would recommend they add a detailed layout on the listing...it was tough to decipher the rooms, beds, etc. Note that the 3rd bed in the room with the bunk bed is really a 'toddler' bed and the 7th bedroom is really under the awnings and doesn't have a door.
NOT SO GREAT
The ROAD! Wow - you really do need to be an expert and super confident driver to use the roads. They are unpaved, bumpy, narrow and the blind curves are ridiculous. But of course that's not the fault of the house or owners...just think it's important to state.
The BUGS! - Again the nature of the house, open air, with some rooms havivng shutters and no glass for windows, being so open to the elements comes with its challenges. Bring plenty of bug spray and plan accordingly!
Overall we LOVED Bananaquit and would totally recommend it. It is a special place and the memories made there will last us a lifetime.
We stayed at the house with 4 other couples, everyone had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and the staff are wonderful. The pictures cannot portray how wonderful the view, the pool and the rooms are. This was a great fit for what we wanted to do. We had rental cars, so we were able to go wherever we wanted when we were out and about.
If you are not familiar with the road to Anse Chastenet it is a very rough road, but once you are use to the drive it is not a problem.
This villa is top notch and better than the pictures! Staff is INCREDIBLE and will take such good care of you!! Meals were awesome, and we never wanted to leave!! You will not be disappointed booking this place!!!! Most amazing place Ive been!
Our family (our five children, their spouses/partners, our grandchild, my 89 y.o. mother) had a fabulous week at this amazing villa. The view is outstanding, the home is fabulous, and the staff is very attentive. A trip of a lifetime.
Eleven members of our extended family (including 5 teenagers from 13 to 18 years) enjoyed a wonderful week at Banana Quit Villa. The view was beautiful. The photos don't do the villa justice. It is even more beautiful in person. The staff kept the house very clean and did a wonderful job in the kitchen making anything we wanted. We had them prepare our breakfast and most evening meals. It was really nice to have a meal prepared for us on our arrival after a long day of travel. The pool was always extremely clean. We did not rent a car on the island but used the services of Bob's taxi which held all 11 of us. He was very knowledgeable about all the activities in our area. Bob also made arrangements with Mario and his boat for a day trip to the northern part of the island. It was nice to get out on the water and get another view of the island. We have traveled all over the world but the view from this house is at the top of our list. You won't be sorry if you book this house!
Waking up to this view and breakfast cooked for you every morning was amazing! We stayed at the villa with 2 families of 4 and a good friend (9 people total) for my daughters' graduation from high school. Everything went perfect, from Bob the driver picking us up at the airport until he returned us to the airport 9 days later (great driver, we used him frequently). Joan, Ci (great cook) and Brenda (the staff) were all amazing. We had a hard time leaving this Bananaquit villa pool side. The resort's beach was a 15 minute walk down the hill (tough walk back, but Bob will pick you up) it was perfect and we took water taxis from there to sugar beach and up to Castries. Great Family fun!
Anse Chastenet offers some of the best scuba diving in St. Lucia, with regular trips around the reef and wrecks.
Nearby are several other beaches, including Jalousie, between the Piton mountains. With its white sands, shallow and calm waters, this beach is ideal for children.
