La Dolcevita in Amalfi

  • 5 of 5

As we expressed in your guest book we were really feeling at home in your very comfortable, beautiful and fresh appartement. Your wife met us in a very friendly and welcoming way at our arrival and although we arrived too early in the morning, she had fixed so we could get in at once. There were even some nice supplies in the kitchen, which helped us to ajust before getting down to the shops. We also thank you for your helpful advices about getting to Atrani and back to Naples before our departure.

We were very satisfied about living in Atrani instead of Amalfi. It was so quiet and calm and yet so interesting and nice. Most of the evenings (even at the end of Octobre) we could sit out on one of the beautiful terraces and we also had our breakfasts there. We could also swim at the beach, which we could look at right down from one of the terraces.

We were happy about not having a car with us. The traffic situation on the Amalfi coast is really not like what we are used to. But there are so many convenient and frequent bus connections to a lot of interesting places along the coast and up in the mountains, so you really don´t need a car here. Until the end of Octobre you can also go to Capri by boat over a day.

We warmly recommend this appartement to couples without serious physical handicaps because of all the steps you have to manage in order to reach the appartement. We really look forward to visit this place again.

Absolutely wonderful

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was the perfect place to stay on the Amalfi Coast. The apartment itself was really clean, very well equipped, very comfortable and the views from the 2 terraces were stunning! The owners' mother (I think?) was the nicest, kindest woman. We had beer, lemons, milk and other supplies left for us, lots of information about the area etc-and when we left it was like being farewelled by friends. The town of Atrani itself is lovely and within walking distance you have the bigger town of Amalfi where you can shop and also from where you can catch buses and ferries to all the sights. We loved our four days here and would thoroughly recommend this apartment: you do need to be able to manage quite a lot of steps to get up and down to the town but the views make it all worthwhile.

The Coral House - Review

  • 5 of 5

We actually stayed in the Coral House (possibly listed as Jonathan's Apartment) which is part of this same group. It faces Southeast, with a stunning view across the Bay towards Minori and Maiori, and a beautiful tiny beach below.

The adventure began when the little FIAT we'd got a ride in approached some big steel doors set into a hillside around a hairpin bend, which slid aside to reveal a cavernous modern garage carved into the hillside, like something out of a James Bond movie, with its own brand new elevator which took us up through the cliff into the interior of a beautifully furnished and designed building containing a couple of other rental apartments. Ours was around the corner however so we were led outside into a quaint whitewashed alley and down some stone steps to yet another modernized old building containing two more apartments. In we went, and were drawn to the huge picture windows looking out over the impossibly blue sea and the coastline and the little tiny villages and the blue sky and the colourful bushes and the whitewashed hamlets clinging to the cliffsides and it's almost too much to take in at once. You're afraid to look away in case it disappears. But the apartment itself is also hugely impressive - no expense has been spared modernizing and furnishing it. Everything you could think of has been provided for a comfortable stay.

The bed is softer than most you'll find in Italy, though still a little on the firm side, but the view out from the bed and the thin gauzy curtains to the sea and sky outside is something you'll never forget. The balcony is perfect for sitting out on and taking in the view, and there's a second one on the roof above but it's less private and more exposed to a hot sun. Having seen the crowds and tourist madness in Amalfi I cannot imagine why anyone would choose to stay there having first learned about the charms of Atrani. The difference between the two towns is astonishing. And if you're considering Atrani, the Coral House or one of the properties managed by the same family is absolutely where you must stay.

One of the best most remarkable places I've stayed anywhere ever. And I've been to a ridiculous number of places in my travels.

Stunning apartment.

Best apartment we have stayed in. Apart from the views being breathtaking , the hospitality was second to none. Antonio, who dealt with my booking and also arranging our pick up from the airport was so helpful. What can I say about Silvana. Absolutely charming. The welcome pack was lovely and absolutely everything was supplied.. She even gave my husband a spray and creasm for his mosquito lbites ! Clara the housekeeper was just lovely too. This apartment was more like a boutique hotel with the best hospitality ever. We will definitely return.

A perfect getaway...

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed an amazing week here. The property was excellent - very clean, fitted with everything we needed and with wonderful owners who set up our stay. From the moment of booking Antonio and family were so helpful and we felt very welcome. We have left with so many wonderful memories of our stay - particularly the times spent on the terraces soaking up the atmosphere over breakfast or enjoying a glass of one of the many delicious local wines before or after a great dinner at one of the many local restaurants! A recommendation to A Paranza was particularly memorable and worth a little treat for the tasting menu! We cannot thank the owners enough for their welcome and for letting us share the beauty of their property. We absolutely hope to return next summer and have already shared the details with many friends encouraging them to experience the amazing holiday we had!!

Thank you Antonio. We had a wonderful stay in your apartment. Everything we needed was catered for and Mama and her lovely assistant (sorry, I never did know her name) were so kind and helpful - we were made to feel welcome straight from the start. The views were breath taking - I miss them already! We will definitely be returning! Best wishes to you all. Carol

Our beautiful apartment is located in Atrani, the most picturesque seafaring village, and on one of the most striking spots on the Amalfi Coast, 30km distant from Salerno, 200m from Amalfi and 5km from Ravello. The view which unfolds before the visitor is one of great beauty and charm: a cliff top studded with ancient buildings, majolica-tiled domes twinkling in the sunlight, a Moresque bell tower, two idyllic beaches, an imposing massif that rises from the sea; that all sit wedged between the vast expanse of sky and sea. Our spacious and elegant apartment offers our visitor the best in comfort and a peaceful ambiance which will delight and enliven the soul and regenerate the senses.
