Several world class courses are within a 5 minute drive, including Archerfield, Renaissance Club, and Muirfield. This luxury 3200 sq ft house is beautifully furnished and well equipped. It has four spacious bedrooms - each with a super-kingsize bed with a Sealy Posturepedic mattress and ensuite bathroom. There is an additional downstairs bathroom, gorgeous kitchen with breakfast bar and open plan dining for eight people, downstairs 'whisky snug', home office, large upstairs living room with outdoor terrace and views over the village green and East Lothian countryside, a garage for storing golf clubs, a ‘boot room’ for shoes and jackets, and its own private garden. It is set back from the main road and backs onto the historical village green.

Gullane is a beautiful village. Step out of No 1 The Green, and you will find The Old Clubhouse and The Golf Inn pubs, The Main Course Italian restaurant, Le Poitiniere - widely recognised as one of the finest restaurants in East Lothian - and a variety of gorgeous village shops including a supermarket for your day-to-day provisions – all within a two minute walk of the house. Restaurant Chez Roux at Greywalls is 1 mile away, North Berwick with its many shops and restaurants is a 10 minute drive, and Edinburgh is a half-hour train ride away. When you’re not playing golf, take a stroll down to beautiful Gullane beach, visit the many local attractions including the 12th century church ruins at the western entrance to the village, and the Glenkinchie Malt Whisky Distillery less than half-an-hour's drive away, or enjoy a day out in our fabulous capital city.

Maid service and transfers to and from the airport or golf courses can be arranged.

No 1 The Green is perfect for golfers and anyone wanting enjoy the many splendours that Scotland has to offer. It is a haven of tranquillity and a ‘home from home’ for our family, rented on a private basis to discerning visitors who we hope will love it as much as we do. Why Hannah Forbes chose Gullane

We fell in love with this beautiful house as soon as we saw it, and bought it as a second home for our family. It is in the heart of the Golf Coast and in the village of Gullane, with restaurants and shops on our doorstep. It is an 'outdoor-in' house, full of light and lovely spaces. It is designed by well-known architect Lorn Macneal, and has won awards for its many eco friendly features.

What makes this house unique

We are making our second home available on occasion to discerning guests who we hope will love it as much as we do. The beautiful space, stunning views, and proximity to golf courses, the beach and fabulous village shops, pubs and restaurants make it a true 'heaven on earth'.

The village is renowned for its eight golf courses, including the championship course at Muirfield, a regular host to The Open Golf Championship.
