About Katherine and Michael Thomas
Hi, we are Katherine and Michael Thomas, we are the proud owners of Villa Coral retreat. We live in Swansea, South Wales, close to the wonderful Gower peninsular. Based in Swansea, Mike runs a wholesale flower company, importing flowers from all over the world. Mike and I fell in love with the beautiful island of Cyprus on our very first visit in 2004. We purchased Coral retreat in 2007 and along with our family - children and now grandchildren, we have been making happy memories here every year since. We are very privileged to have been able to share our villa with so many lovely guests over the years and look forward to extending a very warm welcome to future guests.
Katherine and Michael Thomas purchased this Villa in 2007
Why Katherine and Michael Thomas chose Coral Bay
We chose Coral retreat for a number of reasons, but firstly its prime location. The villa also stands in a substantial plot with a lovely large pool and the layout of its interior flows so well. When we were house hunting, there were many villas with some of these features, but Coral retreat encompassed them all and Coral bay as a resort has such a safe, comfortable feeling, you can't but fall in love with this tiny corner of Cyprus.
What makes this Villa unique
What's unique about Coral retreat is, the house has a special quality, the moment you walk in, it welcomes you and envelopes you in a great big hug.
Cancelled bookings will not receive a refund.
A lovely villa with everything you need and more. ideally situated with the main strip close by if you want a lively night out or try feggari fish restaurant at the top of the road for great food and quiet drinks served by panos and Andros. All in all a fantastic holiday, would highly recommend. A big thank you to Katherine who was extremely helpful from day one. We couldn't ask for more.
Stunning villa in a perfect location
Everything has been thought of at this gorgeous villa with lots of extra finishing touches to make your stay relaxing and comfortable.
Perfect location for peaceful relaxing while also being a short walk from all the restaurants, bars, shops and beach.
Buses are frequent if you don’t want to drive taking you to local tourist attractions such as Tombs of the Kings, Paphos harbour etc.
Katherine was very helpful and promptly answered any questions we had and Carrie was welcoming on arrival and advised us on local restaurants/car hire etc.
We wouldn’t hesitate in returning and would recommend to family & friends!
Fabulous Villa and Location
Have just spent 3 weeks at the villa Coral Retreat and although the weather was a bit poor at times the quality of the villa and its close proximity to the main area of Coral Bay more than made up for it. The owners have done a great job of ensuring that all the fixtures and fittings that you require are available and their local agents are welcoming and ensure everything is ready for your arrival. The villas location is about 150 metre from the main street in Coral Bay, however, it is down a quiet private road and is wonderfully peaceful at all times. Locally there are some great restaurants such as Phidias, Sala Thai, Trattoria La Vigna and Sidayes. We had a fabulous time at Villa Coral Retreat and are already thinking of returning.
Great Villa, excellent location, great communication from start to finish!
Clean, spacious Villa. Loved every minute of our stay. Relaxing by the pool or taking a stroll to bars & restaurants. Beach not too far away. Hope to be back soon.
Wonderful family break
From initial contract Katherine was very helpful and informative .
We stayed for 2 weeks and felt the villa ticked all the boxes as stated in previous posts what makes the villa stand out is Katherine’s attention to detail.
The location of the villa is fantastic and I really feel this holiday will be hard to beat !
Booking made very easy with every question answered by Katherine, she organised Transfers and provided a welcome pack, nothing was too much trouble. Villa is stunning in every way, fully equipped & more. Management team welcomed us and wifi issue was promptly resolved. Villa is spacious and very clean, tasteful decor & accessories. Beds are amazingly comfortable, with excellent air con in each room, which was welcomed at night with the hot temperature! The garden and pool area are beautiful, with very sturdy and comfortable loungers and the beautiful gazebo. Would definately return to this stunning villa.
Villa Coral Retreat is in a truly enviable position. It has the advantage of being within easy walking distance of the superb amenities of Coral Bay. Coral Bay is described as being the 'Jewel in Paphos' crown'. This small holiday resort is found on the outskirts of its busier neighbour, Paphos. It has a lovely friendly, comfortable, safe feeling and attracts guests back year after year.
There is a great selection for the evenings, chic restaurants mingle with traditional tavernas, some offer family evening entertainment, such as Greek dancing (mainly in high season) or you can just enjoy quiet intimate dining and appreciate one of the local wines. This combination, along with the beautiful beaches makes Coral Bay the perfect location for a holiday in Cyprus.
An excellent bus service is accessed 2 minutes away from the villa (a flat walk) and runs regularly to Paphos historic old town and market and the lovely Paphos harbour with medieval fort. The fare is about 1.50 Euro each way and a day ticket can be purchased and you can hop on and off as you wish. Alternatively there are many options to join one of the wonderful organised guided trips.
For our younger guests, enjoy safe swimming in the local beaches, a ten minute walk away, here in the crescent shaped, shallow water of Coral Bay, many water sports are available, pedaloes, diving, paragliding etc. or consider a visit to the near by zoo, the water park at Paphos or the Go-Karting, in Paphos or Coral Bay, the list goes on.
Visit Lara Bay, designated an area of outstanding natural beauty, here, within in the Akamas nature reserve is where you will find the hatchery of the loggerhead turtles.
Marvel at the amazingly well preserved Tombs of the Kings and the mosaics in Paphos.
Further a field take a visit to the wonderful Troodos mountains (skiing in winter), stopping off in one of the small villages, such as Omodos along the way, immerse yourself in the feeling of village life and enjoy a long leisurely lunch.
Kourion is another wonder of Cyprus and in my opinion, well worth a visit.
The luxurious Limasol Marina
Kings avenue shopping Mall
Closer to home, ladies pamper yourself at the 5* Coral Beach spa resort or the Thalassa boutique hotel while the gentlemen visit one of the local golf courses.
A car is not needed to visit many of these wonderful places but, although not essential car hire makes exploring a must.
Culture and sport events.:
Outside the walls of the medieval fort at Paphos harbour, the Paphos Aphrodite Festival hosts a yearly, open air, Opera under the stars. This wonderful experience takes place in Cyprus annually in September. An event not to be missed by opera lovers.
Cyprus Weddings: With Cyprus reputed to be, The Island of Love.
Cyprus has played host to many happy couples getting married and we have been delighted at Coral Retreat to accommodate many couples and their wedding parties.
Dietary requirement: Gluten free. A welcome pack of gluten free bread and products can be made available on request, for guests with Coeliac Disease.
All in all, perfect accommodation for families, families getting together, couples, wedding accommodation, golfing, or ladies pamper breaks.
