An absolutely wonderful venue where we celebrated my parent’s 60th wedding anniversary with family.

  • 5 of 5

Willow Grange was the perfect location for a big family celebration. The owners were extremely helpful from the time of enquiry and then throughout our stay, answering all our queries fully. The property itself was amazing, equipped with everything we needed for 11 people including 2 children. It was clean, very well presented with plenty of space for everyone. The ground floor bedrooms were a must for the more senior members of the family and made staying away from home so much easier for them. The children loved playing outside in the large garden and the table tennis table was also a huge hit! Thank you Victoria for helping us to enjoy a very special weekend! I would thoroughly recommend Willow Grange, it was a very peaceful retreat, we all loved it very much indeed. 😀

Perfect setting for the last leg of our tour

  • 5 of 5

This house was wonderful. Exactly as it shows in the photos. The hosts were great and very responsive to our needs. We were a group of eight adults there for four nights. We did take a tour of York on Monday, and then drove up to Scarborough and then on up to Robin Hood’s Bay on another day.I would absolutely recommend this little journey. The coast was gorgeous. On the third day, we didn’t go anywhere. We just stayed and enjoyed the house and all that it had to offer. There’s an outdoor courtyard in the middle that as well equipped with table and chairs. We enjoyed walking down the lane and enjoying the scenery.

Because we have been eating out for several days straight, we ended up cooking some dinners at the house. The kitchen as well appointed with everything we needed.

Lovely break away to celebrate our parents' 60th birthday

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic three-night stay in this beautiful house which is situated in lovely countryside with plenty of space for children (and adults) to enjoy. We had 12 people and three babies stay here and everyone was comfortable. We were lucky with some fantastic weather all weekend, so enjoyed meals outdoors and a BBQ. Great facilities and such a peaceful location which added to the relaxing atmosphere. Would definitively visit here again in the future.

As above. Location very special and facilities were excellent, notably the barbecue which became the centrepiece of the outdoor activities.

The property is absolutely beautiful, very spacious and surrounded by amazing countryside.

We had a fantastic time in Bulmer, the house is beautifully presented and very well equipped. All the rooms had lovely beds with linen provided and plenty of space in the house for 10 of us staying there. Hosts shared plenty of information in advance and were very amenable and helped us with directions and in any time of need. You can very easily spend a few days in the house and the surrounding fields without getting in the car but you’re also very close to York and other activities. No complaints but would suggest you make the rubbish directions more obvious as we very nearly missed them!

Owner's Response: Hi Laura, Thanks for your kind words, we’re happy you had such a great time at Willow Grange and really appreciate how clean and tidy you left the house. Thanks for the pointer re the rubbish collection point - at this time of year the area is well disguised by the hedges etc so we will make a point of making the directions clearer!! Hope to see you again in the future.

A well appointed barn conversion with great character

  • 5 of 5

Couldn't have chosen a better place to have a quiet weekend for a family celebration. Plenty of room for eleven of us, clean, tidy and well appointed throughout. Easy access to Castle Howard, York and the coast, good food in the next village. Highly recommended.

Car: necessary

The property is situated down a private lane about a mile from the pretty village of Bulmer. A couple of miles away is the lovely village of Welburn with a highly-regarded pub and bakery. Five minutes’ drive and you’re at Castle Howard, the spectacular stately home which boasts lovely cafes, gift shops, a garden centre and a well-stocked farm shop and butchers.

Just eight miles away is Malton – the ‘food capital’ of Yorkshire. A town which prides itself on its food festivals and plethora of eateries and charming shops. It is also just half an hour from the historic city of York, which is packed with tourist attractions. The city’s out-of-town shopping area is just 20 minutes from the door. This includes John Lewis, a large M&S, Sainsbury’s and Asda. It is worth noting that despite its wonderfully rural location, all major supermarkets deliver to the property, including Ocado and Waitrose.

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this stunning converted barn is the perfect base for inspiring walks and cycle rides. It is also ideally situated for day trips to the coast or visiting the dramatic North York Moors, including the pretty market town of Helmsley with its castle, Walled Garden and Birds Of Prey Centre.

Whether you’re wanting to get out and about or just spend some quality time with family and friends, this is the perfect choice for a truly memorable break.
