Family reunion

  • 4 of 5

We arrived on Friday 5th Jan and the post code worked perfectly on the sat nav. The house is amazing and had plenty of room even on Saturday when we had a party of approximately 20. We had family from Hampshire, Sheffield, Edinburgh and Sydney! The weather was cold but dry and we were lucky to have avoided the snow. The location is quite beautiful yet very convenient with York only 20 minutes away. The games room was a big bonus with the table tennis and plenty of kiddy toys for the toddlers. The owners are a lovely young family and readily helped us with any queries.

Absolutly lovely

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful house in a lovely peaceful location. The house was very clean, warm and cosy, just what we needed during the snowy & frosty weekend when we visited. Loved the Aga. Great location ideal for visitong York, Castle Howard and many more attractions. Great place for family get togethers, would absolutely recommend a visit. Thanks to Victoria & Ben for a lovely stay and making us welcome.

Location

Car: necessary

The property is situated down a private lane about a mile from the pretty village of Bulmer. A couple of miles away is the lovely village of Welburn with a highly-regarded pub and bakery. Five minutes’ drive and you’re at Castle Howard, the spectacular stately home which boasts lovely cafes, gift shops, a garden centre and a well-stocked farm shop and butchers.

Just eight miles away is Malton – the ‘food capital’ of Yorkshire. A town which prides itself on its food festivals and plethora of eateries and charming shops. It is also just half an hour from the historic city of York, which is packed with tourist attractions. The city’s out-of-town shopping area is just 20 minutes from the door. This includes John Lewis, a large M&S, Sainsbury’s and Asda. It is worth noting that despite its wonderfully rural location, all major supermarkets deliver to the property, including Ocado and Waitrose.

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this stunning converted barn is the perfect base for inspiring walks and cycle rides. It is also ideally situated for day trips to the coast or visiting the dramatic North York Moors, including the pretty market town of Helmsley with its castle, Walled Garden and Birds Of Prey Centre.

Whether you’re wanting to get out and about or just spend some quality time with family and friends, this is the perfect choice for a truly memorable break.
