The most gorgeous cottage within the historic village of Ripley.

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

Amazing cottage sleeping 6 with 3 bathrooms. Fantastic location.

Nestled just beyond the garden walls of historic Ripley Castle sits the charming Cobbler’s Cottage, a perfectly located haven ready to welcome you for your break in this famous village. Recently renovated to a very high standard Cobbler’s provides spacious accommodation for up to 6 people in a relaxed country chic style.

There is something for everyone here and a stay in Ripley will appeal to everyone from the fit and adventurous to those looking for a more relaxed break, history buffs or shopping enthusiasts, families or adult groups, we can guarantee your stay just won’t be long enough. It is also an ideal location for those who might be staying in the locality on work related visits being so conveniently close to Harrogate.

If you don’t feel like venturing too far there is plenty to do within this idyllic village, wander around the castle and grounds, enjoying the stunning scenery and enthralling history. There is the wonderful Nidderdale Greenway to enjoy, a traffic free path perfect for gentle cycling and walking. Eat well at the Boars Head, the superb gastro pub or the village tea room. Enjoy the small shops and just relax.

However Ripley is the door step to the Yorkshire Dales and all the amazing miles of moors, valleys, hills and villages that are there to be explored. Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey and The Forbidden Corner are a must for families. Walkers will open the ordnance survey map and be in heaven. Cyclists will relish the challenges and routes that are available, from Ripley head to the hills and the renowned Tour de France climbs such as the iconic Cote de Lofthouse.

In between exploring the dales a visit to the spa town of Harrogate is a must. With its sophisticated shops, RHS Harlow Carr Gardens, cinemas and innumerable restaurants it is undoubtedly a delightful town to explore. Then of course you should definitely have a day to visit the walled city of York or go shopping in the acclaimed arcades of Leeds.

Whilst you stay at Cobblers you may feel quite happy to leave the car at home. Every 15 minutes the no.36 bus stops a mere 100m away ready to whisk you through to Harrogate or Ripon. Harrogate is then well served with bus and rail links to York and Leeds.

The heart of the home is always the kitchen. Here at Cobblers we have a very generous kitchen diner with a large dining table and a bright and sizable kitchen area. There is ample storage space, a large fridge freezer, electric cooker, microwave and plentiful equipment.

The utility area next door has a separate washing machine and dryer. There is plenty of room for coats and shoes here and a pretty stable door leading to the terraced area. A handy downstairs WC is next door.

The sitting room is full of warmth and a perfect place to relax. The comfortable sofas will happily seat 6. There is a wood burning stove and a smart TV, DVD player, assorted DVD’s and a selection of board games.

The staircase leads from the kitchen to the delightful bedrooms and bathrooms. The bedroom windows look across the garden to Ripley Hotel de Ville beyond. A unique feature of the village, which was built in the nineteenth century when the then baronet decided to remodel the village in a French style.

The 2 larger bedrooms offer superb quality super king size beds which alternatively can be made up as 2 singles. Both rooms have ensuite shower rooms and fitted cupboards. The third bedroom is a little smaller but very pretty. It has a double 5ft bed and large shelves for storage. The beds are all made up with fine Egyptian cotton sheets.

There is a house bathroom with a large double ended bath with and overhead shower. All bathrooms have underfloor heating. Towels and complimentary toiletries are all included.

The house benefits from gas central heating and superfast broadband.

Outside we have a large boiler drying room, providing a sizable utility sink, ideal for cleaning off the day’s muddy gear. Bikes can be stored in here and securely locked away.

A gas barbecue and outside furniture is provided from Easter onwards. There is a large garden with mature trees which provide plenty of privacy.

Ample parking is on a quiet side road adjacent to the cottage.

Children are more than welcome to stay at Cobbler’s and for babies there is a travel cot and high chair available although we ask that you bring your own linen for the cot. No charge will be made for small babies. There is a guard on the wood burning stove but parents are asked to take the utmost care with the stove when lit.

Please feel free to talk to us about any special requirements that can make your stay more comfortable or advice that you may need to enjoy the local area. On arrival you will find a welcome hamper with some delicious goodies including wine, bread and a local cheese.

The most gorgeous cottage within the historic village of Ripley.
average rating of 5.0 based on 1 reviews

Delightful cottage in a beautiful location. Would highly recommend. You will not be disappointed!!

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent a wonderful, relaxing weekend at this beautiful cottage and could not fault it in any way. The owner was a pleasure to deal with, so helpful and accommodating. The photos do not do the property full justice. It is very tastefully decorated, immaculate and furnished to a very high standard. It is so well equipped and everything has been thought of, we wanted for nothing. The cottage was more spacious than we expected with plenty of space for the 6 of us. Loved the finishing touches and the welcome basket Louise so kindly left for us. Ripley is a beautiful village and there is lots to do in the surrounding area. We spent an afternoon at Ripley castle and enjoyed a meal at The Boars Head, both only a few minute walk away. It is also great for walking and cycling in the area. We wished we could have stayed longer and will definitely return.
