Suitable for families and couples, this spacious modern apartment is ideally situated in the trendy La Bodega area, a short walk from the beach and old quarter and close to shops, restaurants and bars. The underground parking space is accessible with a key fob remote and all floors, including parking levels can be accessed by the lift. The apartment building has been built to a high standard and is designed to make full use of natural light throughout. The apartment has three comfortable bedrooms, two bathrooms, a modern kitchen and an open plan sitting/dining room on the lower floor leading to a small balcony. If you fancy a break from the beach, on the upper floor is a large private 50m2 roof terrace, not overlooked, which is a great place to unwind and enjoy a drink, sunbathe, read, dine or just hang out. If it wasn't for the great places to visit in the surrounding area, it's very tempting to leave the car in the garage and spend all the time between the beach, the town and the apartment.

About Conil de la Frontera: With over 3,000 hours of sunshine, Conil de la Frontera is a great place to visit all year round. In addition, although tourism makes up a major part of its economy, Conil is still a working town, giving it a heart and soul, even in the winter months. The hottest months are in July and August and this is when the town is at its busiest, though the tourist calendar is generally packed with all sorts of fiestas and events in and around the town throughout the year. Above all, Conil de la Frontera is a perfect place to kick back and enjoy the good things in life. Spend the day swimming and sunbathing on the beach, have a leisurely lunch in a restaurant and then later, take an evening stroll down to Plaza Santa Catalina and enjoy a drink and tapas outside one of the many bars where you can watch the world go by well into the night. In the summer, choose from a sumptuous array of ice creams, kick off your shoes and take a 'paseo' along the beach.

Places to Visit around Conil de la Frontera: Not only is Conil a great place to stay, with a wealth of things to see and do, it’s also ideally situated for visiting the Costa de la Luz and some of the beautiful towns and cities inland. There’s a huge variety of things to see, from the winding alleys and amazing views of Vejer de la Frontera, the camera obscura and dramatic sea battlements of Cadiz, the old fort and surf kites of Tarifa, the bodegas and Andalucian horses of Jerez de la Frontera, the flamenco and orange trees of Seville, the Roman ruins of Baelo Claudio on the beach near Bolonia, to the eagles, chameleons, lynxes, otters and host of other species to be found in the National Parks.

For some added excitement in the summer, head for the Aqualand Bahia Water Park in Puerto Santa Maria, or to the Jerez Motor Racing Ciruit for a track day or to watch a race or in the winter catch a football match in Cadiz. The possibilities are endless!

Activities in Conil de La Frontera : There are plenty of activities to get involved in, both within and around Conil de la Frontera. The gorgeous beaches, both open and in small coves with clean, clear blue water offer the opportunity to take part in numerous water sports including swimming, windsurfing, surfing, body-boarding, kite surfing, diving, deep sea fishing, snorkelling, canoeing and sailing. Inland, there are many quality golf courses and all sorts of opportunities for walking, bird watching, horse riding, tennis, mountain biking and a good deal more.

Conil also has some great shopping with some beautiful up market boutiques, many of them a stone's throw from the apartment. There are some great restaurants and bars in Conil. Whether you want a long lazy lunch in one of the restaurants by the sea, a great selection of fresh sea food and tapas from bars such as the renowned Los Hermanos, or a sophisticated evening dinner, there's something to suit most tastes and budgets.

About Tom Bell

I live in England with my family, but visit Conil de la Frontera with my family and friends as often as I can. I have great affection for Conil and its people and it feels like a second home to us. We love the Spanish way of life, the sun, the food and the beach and we’ll continue to come to Conil as much as we can. There's still loads of restaurants and bars left to try and I'll never get tired of the amazing beach.

When I’m back in England, I manage the rentals with the help of a local company a couple of blocks away from the apartment who are very efficient, helpful and well known within Conil.

Why Tom Bell chose Conil de la Frontera

Travelling through Latin America and Spain, I’d always dreamed of buying a place on the coast in Spain. We’d always enjoyed holidays in Andalucia, so in 2004, after a lot of research, I set off along the South coast of Spain to look for a suitable location. I knew Conil de la Frontera was the place as soon as I came over the hill and I could see the white town and beach spreading out below. It had everything I was looking for: easy to get to, right by the sea, sunshine, a very Spanish atmosphere, a beautiful historic centre, an amazing beach, loads to do, lovely people, fantastic bars and restaurants and a good mix of predominantly Spanish tourists.

I also love the area, Cadiz, Jerez and Seville and it's so easy to get onto the motorway just a few minutes away over the hill.

What makes this apartment unique

I never get bored in Conil. The thing I love about the position of the apartment is that it’s so close to the beach and the old quarter. It’s also modern and light and everything you need (to buy, eat or drink) can be found within a few blocks, so you only need the car if you go on a trip. I especially love the roof terrace. It’s unusual to find so much space, not overlooked, so close to the centre of town and I can spend hours eating, drinking and playing with the family up ‘above the world’.

Apart from that, I love the magnificent sandy beach which goes on for miles and miles and is fantastic for adults and children. Body boarding and surfing is great but there's golf and all sorts of other things to do too in and around Conil. I could go on for ages but I'm running out of space .....

Fantastic apartment in Conil

We had an amazing week in Conil de la Frontera. Conil is a wonderful Spanish town, with a great beach and loads of fantastic places to eat and the apartment is perfectly located to enjoy it all. The private roof terrace is a real bonus. Cadiz is only a short drive away, perfect for a day trip. We also really liked the nearby El Palmar beach. But it was pretty hard to tear ourselves away from sunbathing on the terrace! Highly recommended.

Nice place in a great location

Nice apartment in the center of Conil. Close to restaurants, shops and above all the mercado. The terrace offers some great views. The garage is a nice feature although its layout is probably not the best which makes parking your car a small challenge. The apartment is clean and the furniture fits its purpose.

Spacious property with private roof terrace

Keys for the apartment were collected from an office about 350m away. This process was straightforward with no problems and the staff provided helpful information, especially about the underground car park and access to the apartment. The parking was a real boon in an area where parking on the street can be very hard to find. The place was clean and well furnished. The owner provided information sheets which were very useful and worth reading.

The apartment was as described and the kitchen well equipped for all our needs while there. The roof sun terrace was really private and was well appreciated for topping up the tans when not on the beach.

Shops for food were very close, especially a bread and cake shop only 30m away from the front door - very handy for breakfast. There are also some restaurants close by if you didn't want to go further to the more touristy areas. The beach and the main centre are about 10-15 minutes walk away so are well within striking distance, but the way back is uphill, sometimes steep in places, so leave some energy after swimming or overindulging at the restaurants. Temperatures when we were there were regularly above 30 degrees during the middle of the day.

A particular favourite was the good selection of heladerias serving up great ice cream and coffee. There is also no shortage of restaurants and tapas bars in the town. The beach is wide with good clean fine sand and there is often a breeze to help you keep cool. However, it did blow enough on one day to start kicking up some sand. The sea shelves gently with a sandy bottom and was fine for swimming.

The flat acts a good base for visits. We visited the beaches at Zahara de los Atunes and Barossa - both good beaches, although Zahara was probably our favourite. However, other locations are within easy striking distance including Vejer, Barbate and Chiclana. We also visited Tarifa where one of our party went on a whale watching tour and saw orcas and dolphins. For those interested in wildlife, we also saw flamingos in the marshes when we drove towards El Puerto de Santa Maria.

Communications with the owner were very good and the deposit returned in short order after our stay. I would be happy to recommend this apartment to others.

Had a great stay!!!

Die Wohnung befindet sich im

Zentrum von Conil direkt am Markt.

Dadurch,dass man einen Tiefgaragenparkplatz im

Haus hat,braucht man sich keinen Sorgen zu machen.

Die Wohnung ist nett und die Schlafzimmer sind groß genug.

Das Masterbedroom ist im Hochsommer ist etwas heiß.

Die Terasse ist sehr geräumig und man hat einen tollen Blick über die Dächer von Conil.

Falls man nicht an den Strand will,ist man gut dort oben aufgehoben.

Man sollte jedoch wissen,dass man in der Innenstadt ist und der Lärmpegel etwas lauter ist!!

Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!!!!

Küche ist ausreichend ausgestattet.

Fabulous holiday

We had a wonderful week in Conil,7 days of sunshine spent making the most of all the fabulous food & drink on offer in this lovely traditional area of Spain.The apartment was perfectly located with plenty of bars & shops on the doorstep & was a short walk from many more bars,restaurants & the beach. The apartment itself is lovely,& felt like a home rather than holiday accommodation. We definitely hope to be able to come & stay here again!

Location, location and...what was the other thing?

We've stayed in rented accommodation in Conil on a number of occasions over the past few years but this was by far the best. It really is difficult to fault the location: near enough to Conil's fast-developing nightlife but tucked away on a fairly quiet side-street. The beach is an easy stroll away but supermarkets big and small - as well as the impressive meat and fish market - are on the doorstep. Having a private garage is a great bonus - parking in Conil in high season can be distinctly tricky - but that's where our car stayed for the whole week; everything could be reached on foot. And should you ever tire of the beach, the shops, the bars and restaurants there's always the peaceful haven of the private rooftop terrace. Wonderful.

Conil de la Frontera is to be found on the beautiful Costa de la Luz in Cadiz province, the South West of Andalucia. This region is renowned for its unspoilt beaches, white hillside villages and the fascinating cities of Cadiz, Jerez de la Frontera and Seville. Conil, in common with much of the Costa de la Luz, has managed to avoid the pitfalls of mass tourism and provides a taste of the real Andalucia for the independent traveller. Perched on the edge of a stunning 15km stretch of beach, and with over 300 days of sunshine, it combines the beauty of a white hillside village with the charm of a traditional fishing village. The people are incredibly friendly and there's a great relaxed atmosphere. If you can tear yourself away from the beach or a cold beer in one of the many excellent bars and restaurants, there are plenty of local activities to enjoy. Conil is also a perfect base to visit the many nearby tourist attractions such as the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art in Jerez.

Golf: There are a total of five 18-hole golf courses within 15 miles of the apartment, and an additional four within 15-35 miles. Most of these can be booked online.

Club de Golf Campano (12km), designed by Robert Trent Jones, is a 5,840 m long championship course in which all players can be put to the test regardless of their level. Surrounded by pine woods and olive trees, it has a par of 72.

Lomas De Sancti Petri Golf Garden (14km), designed by the famous golfer Manuel Piñero, is a beautiful golf course with a par of 68, surrounded by native pines. The course is challenging, rewarding accurate play rather than the hitter and not too long (4,095m) or steep.

Golf Melia Sancti Petri (15km) or La Estancia, was designed by the Dutch architect Alan Rijks and is another beautiful 72 par course (5,535m). Built on the edge of protected natural parkland, the course has a great variety of bird life and vegetation surrounded but old olive trees, holm oaks and pine trees.

Novo Sancti Petri Golf Club (18km) was designed by Severiano Ballesteros and opened in 1990. It has two courses, Mar y Pinos (6,476m) and Centro/Centro Nuevo (6,071m) with a par of 72.

Dehesa de Montenmedio Golf and Country Club (23km), was designed by Alejandro Maldonado Montemedio and has a unique natural setting. No buildings encroach on its 6,260m par 72 course which offers stunning views over the Atlantic and surrounding area and often the chance to see wildlife in the course of your round.

Ski: The nearest resort, Sierra Nevada, is about 4 1/2 hours drive away near Granada.

Changeover Day:
Changeover is Saturday during July and August but can be flexible outside these months. Arrival time is by arrangement between 16:00 and 20:00. Arrival outside these times is possible by arrangement and keys will need to be retrieved from a safety deposit box. Instructions will be provided. Check out time on the day of departure is 11:00am. There may be a charge for late departures.

Notes on prices:
We accept bank transfers in £Sterling in the UK or Euro bank transfers to our Spanish account at the current Euro equivalent rate.
Cancellations that are made more than 60 days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty.
Cancellations made between 60 and 28 days before arrival date will result in a forfeit of the booking fee.
Cancellation made between 27 and 15 days prior to arrival will result in a 50% refund.
There is no refund for cancellations less than 15 days prior to arrival.
