Mini Mansion Getaway!
Our family traveled from all over the country to celebrate my Dad’s 85th birthday. The house was perfect in every way. The home is nestled off the street allowing for total privacy. The outdoor area couldn’t have been any nicer. The kids spent hours playing in pool while the adults relaxed in the hot tub. The view of the lake is beautiful & the sunsets were spectacular. The interior of the home is lovely as well, very clean with all the comforts of home. Lots & lots of extras not typical of a rental property! Ken, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with & it was obvious that he wanted us to enjoy our stay. The next time we are in Dallas, this will be where we stay!
Fantastic Property; Verify Condition before Arrival
Positive: Location; Spectacular views; Clean interior; Comfortable beds with quality linens.
Negative: 1) Pool-pump was not working and pool water was full of leaves and debris. We had to clean it (surface and bottom) before we could swim. Additionally, the infinity edge overflow channel (concrete area 6 feet deep and 12 feet long) was empty due to pump issue. This was dangerous as a fall into it would likely have caused a serious injury. At the owner’s suggestion, we used a garden hose to fill the concrete pit & then used the hose to run water over the waterfall that should have been operating, but wasn’t; 2) Outdoor cleanliness was a problem with the patio/pool area needing some TLC. There were many spider webs in the patio & pool areas. Four of us walked through them at different times. There was also a large rat that seemed to have taken up residence in a stone area next to the patio grill. We saw it on two separate days & chased it away the second day. The grill is a high-end brand, but needs maintenance. Flames shot past the grate in some places & were non-existent in others making it difficult to cook meat evenly. Bottom line - we’re outdoor people, & the outdoor area advertised for this home was a deciding factor in choosing the home. Unfortunately, little attention seems to have been given to the patio/pool area prior to our arrival, and this was a big let-down for us; 3) A lot of the owners’ personal belongings are in the home & visible to guests. We’re accustomed to owners locking away personal items & depersonalizing the home, so this was a surprise to us. Specifically, the master closet is filled with the owners’ clothes, shoes, purses, etc. with only a few feet of hanging space available for renters. Also, most of the dresser drawers in the master closet were full, and we didn’t feel comfortable going through all of them to find empty ones to use. We just lived out of our suitcases for three days instead of dealing with that. Finally, there are poster-size photos of the Mrs dressed in only panties and bra (or no bra) hanging on the master bedroom wall. This seems too personal to be in a rental, but others may feel differently.
Our experience was different than other reviewers. The owner wasn’t available to meet us when we arrived. His son was staying at the house up to our arrival, but didn’t stay to greet us. Nice people; maybe just bad timing for our stay.
Thank you for your review. Although we have never received anything but great reviews we are saddened that your visit was less than favorable. We have taken all your concerns seriously and will remedy the issues.
Unfortunately we were out of town for 3 weeks prior to your arrival and were unable to meet with you personally. We did have someone to check the property the day before but obviously the malfunction of the pool and the inordinate amount of spider webs was overlooked. Sometime the week or two weeks prior to you all coming the landscape crew found a sprinkler valve to be leaking and took it upon themselves to shut the water to the system off until it could be repaired. They failed to report this to the supervisor and nobody ever returned to make the repair or to turn the water to the system back on. The sprinkler system is what fills the back flow of the pool and unfortunately because it was shut off it would not fill the overflow pool hence the water fall was not coming on. S lWe did contact our pool maintenance guy and he was over the next day to remedy the issue.
We make no excuses because if the perception of the guest is less than stellar that is the issue for us and for future guests.
We take reviews very seriously and assure you that we will follow up on all your concerns.
Mini mansion paradise
House was exactly as shown on pictures. Backyard and pool were stunning! Lots of little extras - fresh ground coffee, snacks and wine left as a welcome gift, candles throughout on timers, etc. owner was very helpful and welcoming. Was convenient to Dallas and FW attractions. Would recommend this property to anyone looking for an upscale home for a wonderful family retreat.
We had a great time during our stay. The house was well stocked with anything we needed. Plenty of room for our big group.
Let me start off by stating we absolutely loved this property!! The beauty is in the details! From the Master Bedroom and it's closet and bathroom are exquisite! The kitchen and main living areas are superb! Then of course the Pool/Spa patio is magnificent. We were in town for a conference and spent the most time possible out there!! All the other bedrooms were more than adequate for all guests! The secluded location of this property was a welcome sanctuary from the busy days spent at the conference. The Owner was a pleasure to interact with! We will definitely be staying here again! Cannot recommend this property enough!
Luxury Home with Excellent Amenities- Palace
We stayed at this property during a conference. This home is extremely gorgeous, warm, filled with every appliance needed, very spacious, well kept and exceeded our expectations. Most homes don't look the same in person as presented via photos. However, this home is displayed physically as in pictures. Honestly, the pictures don't do justice. This is what I would say was an experience of "Heaven on Earth." Thank you to Ken the owner who was amazing and ensured we were accommodated and there to meet any need we experienced. His son treated us with royalty, respect, and served us if we were Kings and Queens.
If you are looking for a place where you can relax, enjoy, and treat it as a castle (that it is), then this is the right home for you.
If ever in the Arlington area, this will be our home away from home.
